Little Platte Lake Cabin Near Sleeping Bear Dunes

Our two bedroom lakeside cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood, just on the edge of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Explore one of the nearby Lake Michigan beaches or trails, or enjoy our lakeside cabin in the evenings. Feeling social? Beulah and Empire are 15 minutes from the cottage, while Frankfort and Glen Arbor are about 20 minutes away. There are several great restaurants, and breweries nearby. The space The cottage has a variety of sleeping options with one king bed, one queen bed, and one queen sleeper sofa. If you like to cook, there is a gas range and charcoal barbecue. You can also try your open fire cooking skills over a bonfire near the lake. Help yourself to board games, magazines, and books in the cupboards. The spacious yard is great for outdoor activities. We currently have Bocci Ball and Ladder Ball. After a long day at the beach, you can watch a movie via your Netflix account, or pop in a DVD. Included in your rental: -Dish soap, sponge, starter trash bag, and a roll of starter toilet paper, EO all in one shower soap/shampoo & lotion, hand soap -Sheets, bath towels, pillows, and blankets. -Kitchen towels -Propane -Firewood as available Not included -Beach towels -Tin foil, spices, charcoal, and condiments may or may not be at the cottage. These items are available if guests leave them. -Microwave oven *We charge a flat, $30 fee for dogs--please include this with your reservation. This helps us cover the extra maintenance and cleaning necessary to welcome furry friends. Guest access You will have access to the entire cottage and property, with the exception of the shed and utility room. Other things to note You may want to bring your own drinking water if you don’t like the taste of “hard” water. Winter guests: we do not have a generator at the cottage and experience occasional power outages. In the rare occasion there is an extended outage, the furnace and pump will not work. We ask that you hang in there for a bit, however, if you need to check-out, we can make a plan. More details are in the house manual. We’ve only had one instance where someone needed to leave in all of our years of renting. Keep an eye out for the resident Bald Eagles across the lake. You may also hear the loons in the early morning, and the coyotes in the distance at night. *please note that we ask for 30 days notice for summer cancellations (mid-June-Labor Day). we take bookings for Saturday-Saturday stays.
