Welcome to The Bluebird Cottage! We are a 1930s cottage style cabin located in the majestic Arbuckle Mountains of Davis, OK. Whether you’re here to escape the city, or are an outdoor enthusiast, you’ll enjoy the comforts of home when you stay with us. ***Guests must acknowledge rules prior to booking*** ABOUT THE HOME: The Bluebird Cottage is a 1930's home with the original native stone pathways & original cast iron farm sink. Relax on the front deck, enjoy the backyard fire pit, or unwind in the cabin’s hot tub while enjoying a good soak after a long day of exploring & hiking. The backyard features a BBQ grill; we hope you included your favorite grill master in your travel plans! THE BEDROOM: The cottage’s bedroom features two hotel quality queen mattresses and includes luxurious crisp cotton linens, providing a peaceful repose at the end of the day. We’ve included room darkening shades as well, allowing our guests the option of sleeping in. THE KITCHEN: The kitchen boasts a full size refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, drip 12 cup coffee maker, Keurig, dishware/drinkware, utensils, including pots and pans. Ground coffee and Keurig pods as well as creamer & sugars & spices, and continental breakfast items, are also included with your stay at The Bluebird Cottage, OK. For your convenience we now boast "Jacee's Snack and Shack" as an honor system for drinks, snacks, and other items. All the money goes to her college savings and to help her learn how to manage money. We do not have a washer and dryer for guest use, however, there is a laundromat less than 5 miles from us. There is a local grocery store about 6 miles into town for almost anything you need. THE LIVING ROOM: We have a sofa sleeper in the living room area. A Smart TV with streaming services is available via Roku for our guests’ convenience should you want to binge or catch up on your favorite shows. Popular downloaded apps include Netflix & Hulu & are easily accessed with your account information. Please be sure to log out prior to your checking out. Please note: You are in a mountainous region and the cabin’s Wi-Fi is dependent on a hotspot; it may slow down at times or might lose the signal (rarely). ***We will not discount or refund for any interruption of Wi-Fi services.*** THE BATHROOM: The cabin's bathroom, with a single stall shower, features a linen closet with plenty of hotel quality towels, face cloths, a hair dryer, hamper, and first aid kit. THE GREAT OUTDOORS: The Bluebird Cottage is built on the side of the mountain, allowing you to enjoy wildlife sightings. Don’t be surprised if you happen to see turkeys, deer, red fox, squirrels, and a multitude of wild birds. Be aware, the region hosts a variety of species including, but not limited to, snakes, spiders & wasps. The cottage is in a wildlife area, so please keep all doors closed so none of the ones you DON'T want to share space with get in. Sometimes no matter what we or our guests do, bugs will get in. If that happens please let us know as we do employ an exterminator on a regular basis as a complement to our misting system. Because we make every effort to make your stay “critter-free” we DO NOT refund reservations should stray critter(s) enter the cottage. The outdoor insect misting system does a 20-second spray outside the house and along the property's fence line with the timer set at 6:00 & 10:00 am as well as 2:00 & 10:00 pm starting in the spring and ending after Thanksgiving. It helps keep mosquitoes and other insects to a minimum for our guests' outdoor comfort. Do NOT tamper with the nozzles on the fences or the porch areas. Do NOT tamper with the barrel and timer. If you have any questions about the system contact us immediately and we will promptly address any concerns. If you prefer it to be off during your stay, please let us know. Any tampering of Wi-Fi and/or the misters will likely result in a termination of stay with NO REFUND. THE HOT TUB: A few notes about SAFETY and rules relating to the use of the cottage’s hot tub amenity. 1. Absolutely NO oils, bubbles, soap, shampoos, and glass allowed in the hot tub. 2. Absolutely DO NOT stand, walk, sit or lie down on the hot tub cover, this includes children. 3. Please turn off the high jets, lights, and waterfall PRIOR to closing the cover when not in use. 4. When closing the cover, ONLY use the lifter from the back middle, NEVER pull from the side. 5. Make sure to UNBUCKLE the straps before trying to lift the cover. 6. NO children under 18 left unattended as they MUST be supervised by an adult. ***Failure to follow the hot tub rules that cause damage or injury will result in a minimum fine of $100*** The neighbors share a common driveway so we ask our guests to be respectful when parking at the cabin. There is ample parking for TWO vehicles. Please park only on the paved area by the Cottage. There is easier property access to the cottage’s entry on the back side of the property (instead of the front steps), allowing our guests to carry their luggage into the property. You’ll know you’re there when you see the “Welcome” sign on the door. You will have access to the full house with the exception of our “Staff Only” storage door on the back porch, the small locked cabinet in the kitchen and the locked basement that are used for storage; all easily identifiable by the labels. I will be available and answer promptly on the Airbnb platform. If any issues arise, contact me immediately through the Airbnb platform. We want the opportunity to address any issues or questions that might arise during your stay. I have a neighbor that helps with issues when needed. We want your stay to be as pleasant as possible. The Bluebird Cottage is only one mile north of beautiful Turner Falls Park, in the middle of the majestic Arbuckle Mountains. While there are neighbors nearby, the way the properties are situated, you will barely notice they're there. We DO NOT allow pets, however, the neighbors do have pets that roam, please do not feed our neighbor's pets. The Bluebird Cottage is located in a rural setting so there are no street lights, but we always leave porch lights and a driveway light on for your safety while entering the property. You will need a vehicle. We’re a mile from Turner Falls as well as some eating places. We’re about 5 miles from town. We can comfortably accommodate 2 vehicles. We just ask our guests to not block the neighbors as we share a driveway entrance with them. *****Please note, as small business owners who depend on the reliability of our guests, we have blocked our calendar for your dates of travel and set our cancellation policy as strict. We do, however, understand that sometimes life has its hiccups, and travel plans get canceled, so we strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance, giving peace of mind that you are covered in the event of an emergency. We suggest you research carriers and or select the one that Airbnb recommends and look forward to hosting you!***** ****3rd party reservations are against Airbnb's Terms of Service policy and are grounds for immediate eviction with NO REFUNDS whatsoever and the person booking will assume all liability in relationship to their occupancy. By reserving this property, the guest agrees that they are the account holder and assume all financial responsibility according to Airbnb policies.**** EXTERIOR SECURITY CAMERAS: We have installed 4 security cameras to ensure the safety of both guests and property. They are actively recording both audio and video down the stairs on the front porch entrance , back porch entrance including the "Staff Only" door, the basement doors directed towards the driveway. And another security camera under the front porch, monitoring the cabin's misting system, including the barrel. WARNING, the misting system is pesticide for pest control, please contact the host on the Airbnb PLATFORM if you would like to request the system be turned off. ***Tampering, unplugging, or otherwise disabling of security cameras and/or Wi-Fi is grounds for immediate termination of guest reservations WITHOUT refund whatsoever.*** QUESTIONS ABOUT EARLY CHECK-IN OR LATE CHECK-OUT We are happy to accommodate approved Early Check-ins and Late Check-outs when we are able. **Approved Early Check-ins are $35 per hour with a maximum early check-in of 2 hours. **Approved Late Check-outs are $35 per hour with a maximum late check-out of 1 hour. **See our rules for UNAPPROVED late Check-out fees.
