The bedroom offers two queen beds with comfortable linens and room-darkening curtains for a restful night’s sleep. Every detail is designed for comfort, so you can wake up refreshed and ready for a new day of exploring Turner Falls, Chickasaw National Recreation Area, or any of the nearby local attractions. The fully equipped kitchen makes dining in a breeze with a full-size refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, 12-cup coffee maker, Keurig, dishware, utensils, and cookware. We’ve stocked it with coffee, tea, sugar, creamer, and spices to make your stay easier. You’ll also find a small honor-system corner called “Jacee’s Snack and Shack,” offering drinks and snacks with proceeds going toward Jacee’s college fund, a special touch that helps teach her responsibility and money management. The living room invites you to kick back and relax with a comfortable queen sofa sleeper and a Smart TV where you can log in to your favorite streaming apps like Netflix or Hulu. The cottage includes reliable Starlink Wi-Fi, perfect for browsing or streaming, though please note that occasional brief interruptions may occur during storms, as we’re nestled in a natural mountain setting. The bathroom features a single-stall shower, a linen closet stocked with fluffy towels and washcloths, a hair dryer, hamper, and first aid kit for your convenience. Outside, The Bluebird Cottage truly shines. The property sits along the mountainside, offering peaceful views and frequent wildlife sightings. It’s not unusual to spot deer, wild turkeys, red foxes, or curious squirrels during your stay. However, we’re also located in a natural area where less friendly residents, like snakes, tarantulas, wasps, and other critters also live. While we make every effort to keep your stay “critter-free” through regular pest control and an outdoor misting system, occasional encounters with nature can happen. Because this is part of the local environment, we do not offer refunds if any unpleasant critters make an appearance inside or outside the cottage. Our outdoor insect misting system sprays automatically several times a day during warmer months to help reduce mosquitoes and bugs, so you can enjoy the yard and hot tub comfortably. Please don’t tamper with the system’s nozzles or timer, and let us know if you prefer it turned off during your stay. Guest access Our neighbors share a common driveway entrance, so we kindly ask guests to park respectfully at the cottage. There is sufficient parking available for two vehicles; please use only the paved area near the Cottage. For easier access, you can enter the cottage from the back side of the property instead of using the front steps. This makes it more convenient to carry your luggage inside. Look for the “Welcome” sign on the door to know you’ve arrived. You will have full access to the house, except for a few areas marked as “Staff Only”: the storage door on the back porch, a small locked cabinet in the kitchen, and the locked basement. All restricted areas are clearly labeled for your convenience. Getting Around The Bluebird Cottage is conveniently located just minutes from Turner Falls Park, the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, 777 Zipline, and downtown Davis and Sulphur. Most attractions, restaurants, and grocery stores are within a 5–10 minute drive. You’ll find easy highway access from Hwy 77 and I-35, making travel simple whether you’re coming from Oklahoma City (about 1.5 hours) or Dallas/Fort Worth (about 2 hours). The area is best explored by car, and parking is free at most local attractions. Scenic drives through the Arbuckle Mountains are a guest favorite.
