Located on the Michigan Tech XC Ski Trails, you can ski out the back door. Take a short ungroomed trail to the classic ski trails, or walk down the road to the Mill Road TrailHead to access premier skate skiing trails. We have a ski waxing station in the garage, including a table, vise, waxing iron, scrapers and brush) so you can wax your skis. Just bring your preferred wax. Lastly, three sets of Tubbs snowshoes come with the home. Enjoy winter right from your backyard in a home away from home. The space Sleeping: As a 1900s era mining home, the upstairs used to consist of 3 very small bedrooms. However, we opened it up into a single loft style room featuring a comfortable Restonic (Made in the UP!) Queen size bed, as well as a twin bed. The living room features a pull out couch with an acceptable mattress that is a lot better than sleeping on the floor. The living area is also stocked with a brand new smart tv (access to Netflix, YouTube, etc) with a DVD player and small collection of movies. Kitchen: Eat-in kitchen with sink, full-size fridge, microwave, small crockpot, coffee maker & full-size stove. The fridge is stocked with some basics (ketchup, mustard, etc) and we also provide complimentary coffee and tea. Front Porch: The enclosed front porch is great for enjoying a morning cup of coffee in the summer, or storing bikes, skis, and outdoor equipment when not in use. Smoking: Smoking is NOT allowed in the house or on the property. Child Proof: Two baby gates will be provided upon request at least one day prior to arrival. Yard: Located on a quarter acre lot with plenty of room for yard activities or young ones to run around and expend some energy. Guest access Guests will have exclusive use of the house and yard. 24/7 access is provided with a house key, located in a lock box. Other things to note Parking: Limited to one vehicle (without trailer) Nov 1 - April 30. No parking on the street during that time (local ordinance). 2 vehicles permitted May 1 - October 31. Patio (and its amenities) is not available during the winter (grill is available). Winters can be as long as Dec 1 - March 30 - depending on the year. Let us know before booking if you'd like to use the patio during that time and we'll determine if it will be an option to clear it. .
