Your Own Retreat in the Berkeley Hills

The space is especially welcoming to anyone wanting to spend time with family or friends without being underfoot or just plain wanting a place of your own. It comfortably accommodates a solo traveler or two. It is a completely separate and private space in the downstairs of our home. The space UPDATE 9/1/2022--Wev'e just installed a brand new Queen bed in the room. It's a nice upgrade. Enjoy! This lovely room, with its own private entrance and full bath is located on its own floor in our home, in a quiet neighborhood. The room is west-facing and light-filled with a large window that looks out onto the private garden and even has a tiny view of San Francisco Bay. It’s laptop friendly with WiFi and also cable TV. This room is perfect for the business or pleasure traveler in need of a private, clean, quiet retreat. There is a refrigerator with a real freezer and microwave, no real kitchen. There is off-street parking and also easy access by bus to downtown Berkeley, UC Berkeley, and BART—each of which is within 3 miles from our home. The neighborhood is full of people of all ages. It is quiet and located at the very top of the Berkeley Hills, with immediate access to Tilden Park. Real estate professionals have named ours “one of Berkeley Hills best-loved streets.” It is indeed favored by walkers, bicyclists, and runners. We’ve lived here for more than 30 years and are happy to share what we know about the area. This completely private room is part of our home and most times we are here. We are happy to offer tips on Berkeley’s many fine eateries, shops, and parks.
