Sharpsburg Cabin with River Views on C&O Canal

This charming cabin gives you everything you need for the perfect Sharpsburg getaway. With stunning views of the Potomac River, the cabin is right on the C&O Canal Towpath, a mile away from the famous Antietam National Battlefield, and about 8 miles away from the historic college town of Shepherdstown WV. Highlights - grill food on the deck, watch the stars, read books and surf the Internet in the sun room, go for a hike on the C&O Canal Towpath. We hope you enjoy your stay! The space We love this cabin so much! The best part is the location. It's right on the C&O Canal overlooking the Potomac and close to nearby attractions like the Antietam National Battlefield. It's a great sanctuary for peace and quiet and recuperation. The space is private and has river views from nearly every room! There are two bedrooms in the main cabin, along with a stocked kitchen, living room, sunroom, screened-in porch and bathroom. Outside, there's a large deck on entrance side of the cabin and a small patio with a hot tub on the other side of the cabin. When we bought the cabin, we renovated it. It needed to be modernized! The indoors has new floors and a fresh look to it. We converted a shed on the deck into a cute third bedroom known as the "cabana." Teenagers, couples, and tiny home enthusiasts may particularly like it. We tried to maximize light and views throughout the cabin and believe we succeeded! It's truly a charming space. What do we NOT like about the cabin? A few things: - There's only one bathroom in the cabin and it is fine but was never renovated. It's on the main floor. This means you have to go up and down the stairs to go to the bathroom at night. It also means anyone staying in the cabana has to go outside in order to get to a bathroom, which may be annoying on cold nights. - There are a lot of stairs to get up to the cabin. And the indoor stairs are pretty steep. You have to be careful going up and down both sets of stairs. Please exercise caution! - There's no dishwasher so we hand-wash dishes. And there's no real oven, though the microwave does have a convection oven setting. - It's still a cabin and it is near a river! Occasionally there are bugs and spider webs, but we do our best to control that. - Cell service is spotty in the area, depending on your service. But the Wifi works great, so you may want to enable Wifi-based calling when you're there. Our goal in providing this info is to give you as realistic a picture as we can. We love it and just want to make sure it's a good fit for your getaway. Guest access You'll have the entire cabin to yourself! There are parts of the cabin where we tuck away personal belongings, which we ask you to leave alone. Also - we have a shed on the street level which we ask you to refrain from entering. Other things to note No smoking. No parties or events. No pets even though we love them (sorry... allergies!) Maximum occupancy is 4 people. All adults on the property must be registered with the hosts. There's no dishwasher. Guests must hand wash their dishes. The kitchen has almost all the basics to cook for yourself - stove, pots and pans, olive oil, salt & pepper. There's a coffee maker, microwave and stove, but there's no oven or dishwasher. The propane grill on the deck is available, just remember to turn it off! Also, please bring your own food. The Wifi is pretty good! There's no cable TV but streaming works well. The TV set is equipped with an Apple TV. Guests can bring their own devices to plug in and/or login to their own accounts on Netflix. There is baseboard heating throughout the cabin, including the bedrooms. There's also a mini-split for supplemental heating and cooling. The cabana has its own mini-split.
