Alta Vista is not suited for toddlers and preschool age children. The Alta Vista home was built in 1998 and subsequently substantially expanded. It is located in easy commute distance to Palisades/Alpine Meadows, North Star, Sugar Bowl, Royal Gorge, and just minutes from the Tahoe-Donner down hill and cross-country facilities. The amazing panoramic vistas are maximized from every room and large wrap-around decks. The main level has two bedrooms (one with a Q and one with two T beds), each with sliding glass door access to a large view deck, a bathroom, and a three-car garage. The Great Room with dining area and kitchen, as well as an extra-large master bedroom (with K bed, large window seat, and reading area), and large wrap-around deck are on the upper level. A second master bedroom/bath with a round "sultan" bed (approx. king size), an indoor 2-person jacuzzi tub is available on the lower level. The home features wall-to-wall carpeting and a vaulted LR ceiling. The downstairs master bedroom is tiled and features radiant floor supplemental heating, as well as a gas fireplace. At 7300 ft elevation, the Alta Vista Chalet at Tahoe/Donner -- Truckee, CA, overlooks vast areas of mountain ranges in a stunning top-down panoramic view setting. We provide free unlimited Internet, 2 large flat-screen TVs, and much more ... Guests are renting the entire house. listed pricing is for 4 or fewer people. We prefer to rent to family-type group settings and may decline rental requests if we are not completely at ease that the guests will not abuse our private home for partying purposes. We have a 4-night rental minimum. All formalities are done via e-mail and Internet. There are numerous hiking and biking trails in the immediate vicinity of Alta Vista. For a fee set by the Tahoe Donner Association, Renters of Alta Vista have access to the Tahoe Donner recreation amenities (downhill and cross-country skying, tennis, 2 swim centers, gyms, boating and swimming and picnicking at Donner Lake, etc). Owner will communicate with guests via e-mail but will not be present during guests' stay. Once your booking is confirmed, Owner will e-mail you all information pertinent to your stay at Alta Vista, including the key code then applicable to you and the Internet password. Alta Vista is located in a prime view location within the renowned Tahoe-Donner Resort. The trail head for endless hiking and biking trail is just 300 yards from Alta Vista; one can ski into the Tahoe Donner downhill skiing resort; the famous Cross-Country Ski Center and Equestrian Center are 2 miles downhill from Alta Vista; the beautiful Donner Memorial State Park, ideal for picnicking and swimming in Donner Lake, is just down the hill from Alta Vista. Guest access Guests are renting the entire house -- owners or their representative will not be present during the duration of the rental. Other things to note Pricing is by occupancy. Our basic pricing is for up to 4 people. If there are more people -- even if only for one night -- an additional charge of $20 PER RENTAL NIGHT (e.g., $80 if the rental period is 4 nights, etc) applies for each additional person. It is awkward and cumbersome to adjust the pricing once a rental has been accepted. Therefore, please try to be accurate with your occupancy total.
