Stone Acres Farmhouse (@stoneacresjulian on IG) is an industrial designed retreat set in the “Dark Skies” historic Julian, located 50 miles east of San Diego/130 miles southeast of Los Angeles. The original barn is rebuilt into a modern industrial farmhouse design. Set amongst a prior sheep farm, with nearly 100 years of history. This is our family retreat ideal for travelers with refined tastes. Winter conditions require 4x4. Our guest house can be rented additional for larger groups Modern rustic industrial design that has transformed a 100 year old Julian barn into an architectural design fitting for Stone Acres Farm. Furnished with American post modern furniture by Nakashima, Eshrick and a collection of international artists, our home is filled with a collection suited to the California mountains. This open space layout has been designed for the aesthetic, book lover, cook and romantic couple at heart looking for a few days in the mountains to reconnect with nature and their senses. It is our family weekend retreat. Stone Acres has been curated with all of the amenities you would find at boutique hotels; from Turkish bath towels & robes, the bedrooms are quiet sacred spaces ideal for reading a book or lounging in the Italian bed sheets. The reading loft designed for our daughter Cora is a quiet space for play and meditation. The loft requires an adult to be present if children are using it. The chef's kitchen is appointed with Smithy Iron cookware, Japanese cutlery, Nespresso machine and every spice you may need for an enjoyable romantic dinner by the fireplace. Watch the sunset over the roll alpine hills or sit outside and take in the fresh mountain air. The village of Julian and Wynola are both a short 5 minute drive and offer travelers several options for alfresco dining, vintage shopping and countless outdoor activities for the adventurous. Pets are not allowed Guests have full access to the house and surrounded farm along with outdoor entertaining area with fire pit and ping pong table (this area is shared with our adjacent stone guest house which is a separate rental) We are always a call away for any need you have. We also have a caretaker just down the road in the event of an emergency. This house is set among 10 acres of our property and a short walk to the William Heise Park in the Laguna Mountains, a nature preserve where you will see deer, wild turkey and other furry friends. Please be respectful of the other guests in the adjacent stone cottage which is also part of our Stone Acres property. Parking is designated in the driveway for guests. Getting around Julian requires a car as Lyft and Uber are difficult to find. 4x4 vehicles maybe required in the winter if snow is in the forcast and tire chains signs are posted on State roads. We have two homes on the larger 10 acre property. The house is ideal to sleep 4 adults or 2 couples. Children ages infant-2 years old are allowed but kids 3 and older must be confirmed by the host prior to booking. The architectural design layout is an open plan design to enhance the feel and flow of the original farmhouses vaulted spaces. This includes the Childrens reading and play loft. Please assist and supervise young children to get up the lofts stairs.
