Walkout basement studio (full bath and kitchen) in quiet neighborhood in Southeast DC. Lots of light. Cool in the summer, warm in the winter. Walking distance to Ft. Dupont Park; short ride to walking/bike trails. 20-25 min to downtown DC. Relax in the cozy backyard after exploring what DC and the DMV have to offer. Access to patio table w/ large umbrella, fire pit (wood not included), and plenty of free street parking out front. Ideal for guests coming with cars. Guests have private entrance in back of the house, on-street parking is available. The downstairs bedroom and sitting area, kitchen, and bathroom are for guests. This includes two closets; the large closet has cleaning supplies, extra towels, a fan, and a space heater. Linens and towels provided including extra blankets. The kitchen has an oven and 4-burner stove, a full-size refrigerator, a keurig machine, and a microwave and comes with pots and pans, cooking utensils, and a set of 4 for cutlery, plates and bowls, mugs and glasses. The laundry area is shared with the residents, but it's highly unlikely that we'd need to use during any stay shorter than a week. The outdoor space is shared as our dogs need to be let out daily. If you plan to use the fire pit, please let us know so we can either approve the wood you've purchased or provide some at an additional cost. Use of any other area (including the other side of the basement) is prohibited without expressed permission. The laundry area and outside areas are shared spaces. Do not burn anything but approved wood in the fire pit. We live in the house, so we can be available as needed, but we defer to guests regarding the level of interaction they'd like during their stay. Conveniently located near bus and metro routes. 10 minute drive to Nationals Park 15-20 minutes drive to downtown DC, the Smithsonian museums, and the many food options. Located within 5 minutes drive to highway entrances for expedient travel to Virginia and Maryland. Walking distance to Fort DuPont park system which has walking and bike trails. Also walking distance to Ridge Road Rec Center which has a Capital Bikeshare docking station for anyone who would like to commute by bike. Pimento Grill, a local and Black-owned restaurant, short stroll away with decently priced and delicious food. There is parking on the property (2 vehicle maximum). The property is located near bus, metro and bike/walking routes. We have 2 adult dogs (Duke and Caesar- you can see them in the photos) living on the property who are generally people and pet friendly. We ask that all children and pets be supervised by an adult at all times and that you clean up after pets in our yard and the neighborhood generally.
