The space The Federal House was built in 1842 by Frederick Stahl and Alice McLane Stahl. The home is considered the finest example of Federal architecture in Galena. Guests are welcome to enjoy the ambiance in the Living and Dining rooms which look much as they did when the house was built. These rooms are furnished appropriately to the period. The two spacious suites are beautifully furnished but in a more eclectic rather than historical style. You may enjoy breakfast in the main Dining Room or have it delivered to your suite. Beverages and plenty of ice will be stocked in your room before your arrival. The City of Galena will not allow a B&B to serve or sell alcoholic beverages, please feel free to bring your own. The wet bar is furnished with a coffee maker, tea kettle, small oven, blender, glasses, plates, silverware and other utensils. Coffee, cream, tea, hot chocolate, popcorn, sugar, sweetener, salt and pepper are also provided. The fridge is stocked with beverages, squeeze bottles of ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise and plenty of ice. Guests are welcome to use the grill in the back garden when weather permits.
