Chalet in Wilmington

This light-filled and spacious vacation house is peaceful and oriented to the south. The view is spectacular. The house is set in a meadow on 138 wooded acres, and includes a sledding hill and pond. The open concept kitchen has a breakfast counter & round dining table; the living room has a cozy wood stove. We welcome skiers (12 miles - Mt. Snow) and non-skiers: the sledding hill is right outside; there are toys/books for kids. The Game room w/ queen futon has a private bath. Wi-fi. The space There is something about being in this house that gives you the feeling of being on top of the world - no other houses can be seen (though Shaw's supermarket is 7 minutes away), and the view is expansive. The living room is bright even when the weather may be grey. There are three levels: on the main level, you enter through the large mudroom where you can put all your equipment and coats and shoes, then, you open a door into the truly fabulous kitchen/dining/living room with a ceiling fan and cozy wood stove. The sliding glass door leads to the wrap-around deck, suitable for lounging or eating on a warm day. Also on that level is a large bathroom and two large bedrooms, each with queen-size beds. The upper level has a beautiful bedroom with a skylight and a king-size bed, a bathroom (with shower). Also on that level is a bedroom with 2 twin-size beds, linked by a bridge that overlooks the living area. The lowest level has the game room with a queen-sized futon, ping-pong table, electric piano, and its own bathroom with bathtub. There is also a full laundry room with washer, dryer and laundry sink on the lowest level. About us: We are a family of musicians, artists and writers. There are plenty of books to read, two television sets, wifi, and places to write and set up your laptops. The kitchen has a giant amount of counter space for creative cooks. Our property encompasses 138 hilly but hikeable acres with several streams. The swimming/frog catching ponds are down a path past the stone wall, and there is a pond-cabin there where you can lounge and change. There is plenty of parking. Guest access The whole house is rented to you (although we have stored some things in private areas.) Although beds will be made, please look through closets (especially the closet under the stairway to the top level) to find any bedding extras you might need...
