North Berkeley Backyard Cottage

A detached studio cottage behind a single family home. We are located in North Berkeley, close to famous restaurants, Chez Panisse and Cheeseboard Pizza, as well as UC Berkeley, Downtown Berkeley, and public transit. zoning permit: ZCSTR2017-0001 The space The private studio cottage is located behind a larger single family home. This cottage is completely separate from the main house and is accessed through a rear gate into a shared backyard. The cottage features a King-Sized Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme Mattress. There is also a small futon that folds out into a full-sized cot. Extra pillows, sheets, and blankets are stored within the cottage. The space is just under 400 square feet and consists of a kitchen stocked with dishes, silverware, pots, and pans. A full-sized refrigerator, stove top, oven, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster oven. Just off the kitchen, there is a table that seats two. There are two closets with a dresser, room to hang your clothes, extra sheets for the futon, an iron and ironing board, and two bath robes. Lastly, there is a small bathroom with plenty of towels, a hair dryer, and a stand up shower with soap, shampoo, and conditioner. This space is bright and comfortable. In addition, there is DSL Wi-Fi and a 27-inch flat screen TV with YouTube TV. Please note that in the winter, if/when it rains, we sometimes get ants in the cottage. We can set up ant traps and do our best to minimize the problem, so please let us know if and where you do see ants. Furthermore, it is uncommon in Berkeley for units to have air conditioning, which we do not provide. We do have fans and you can open the windows. The backyard is shared with us and our two kids. Guest access Guests have access to the cottage and the shared yard, which includes lawns chairs, and a table with two chairs on the deck. If you enjoy interacting with your hosts, you may run into us or our kids, Sydney and Kit, in the backyard. If you definitely want to say hi, let us know! Other things to note Once you book a reservation, we will send you information on how to access the cottage, including a key code to do so. Furthermore, there will always be someone available to answer your questions or provide advice. If you forget something or if there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable, please ask!
