Description
Our farm is located in Southwest Virginia on 160 acres of forests and rolling pastures. Nestled among the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, the Jefferson National Forest, New River, and multiple access points to the Appalachian Trail are less than twenty minutes away. We believe in making the amazing resources of our farm available to members of our community and beyond who have a passion for living close to the land in a creative, communal setting. The space This unit is a private bedroom in a shared Airbnb guest-only house. The house in which the bedroom is located has been completely remodeled including new hardwood flooring and trim throughout the entire house, a new modern kitchen with all new appliances, upgraded insulation and the addition of unique cozy comfortable spaces conducive to relaxing and enjoying the spectacular views. A Scandinavian wood stove completes this special living space. There may be other Airbnb guests and part time residents sharing the living room, bathroom, kitchen and other common areas. The host lives in a separate building on the farm. Upon request, you can receive a key to your room. Fir cooking, guests can use the newly added kitchen in the house. The farm kitchen is also available if the need arises and there is also an outdoor kitchen space available for use seasonally.(late spring, summer and fall) Additionally, the property has a wonderful system of walking trails as well as multiple fire pits and all kinds of lovely places to explore. If you are interested in taking advantage of these facilities please ask! **Important Notes** This is a RURAL LOCATION. We have felt that some guests are not prepared for certain realities of country life, and we want to make sure our guests are happy and feel like they are getting the experience they anticipated. So here are a few points to note: Our property is located at the end of a mile-long gravel driveway. It is accessible to 2WD vehicles, even in the rain—we promise. However, if you are not accustomed to driving on such roads, our spot may not be a good fit for you. Rural infrastructure is finnicky—especially the internet. We do provide wifi in guest areas as well as common spaces, but it is not lightning fast and it is prone to occasional lapses. Please keep this in mind if you are planning on working remotely from your rental. Guest access This unit is a private bedroom in a dedicated guest-only house. Hosts sleep and spend their time in other parts of the property and will only enter the guest house on limited occasions. In addition to their private room, guests will have access to a bathroom and living room in the same building as their bedroom, as well as a dedicated guest-only coffee maker, refrigerator, and microwave. Guests also have access to a full kitchen which is shared with the hosts, and are welcome to enjoy common spaces in the main house (shared with the hosts) as well as any of our outdoor spaces. The cats, dog, and chickens are generally free to roam about the property, so be prepared for this. Our dog is anxious around new people so please do not pet him when you first arrive, even if he seems friendly.
