Our modern, newly renovated A frame chalet is a tranquil, relaxing sanctuary. Located behind a private gate, nestled within 14 acres of woods atop a forested mountain, located 15 minutes from great skiing, dining, and cultural attractions, our home is the perfect getaway. Easy access to Lenox, Great Barrington and Stockbridge. No children under 10. Available November 11 thru May 1 No pet policy, unless stays are 30 days or more , available for 1-6 months stays. As the pictures of this home show, this true retreat is warm and inviting. It boasts wood floors, with designer rugs, upscale furnishings, fully furnished gourmet kitchen, wood burning stove in the living area, and a gorgeous dining area for fun memorable dinners. A large bedroom is on the first floor with an en suite luxurious bathroom, complete with a heated floor and river rock shower. A winding staircase leads to a loft area , with two large bedrooms and full bath. An oversized walk in rain shower, complete with a huge picture window , overlooks the forested greenery. Each bedroom is fitted with new king size beds, linens, towels, reading lamps, and beautiful floor to ceiling windows that look out into the forest. Lots of separate outdoor areas for privacy, are a high point in this home. A spacious front deck provides the perfect vantage point from which to watch the wildlife. The bluestone patio at the rear of the house, with its outdoor wood burning fireplace, provides the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine with friends. Guests that rent this home have full access to the home . We have a wonderful cohost that meets each guest and is available for questions or any issues. The owners live in Texas, but keep up with each guest and their reservations. We are in the Hudson River Valley, which is rural and mountainous. This area has a long history, dating back to the Revolutionary War. Interesting cemetery's are everywhere. At the bottom of our hill, is Queechy Lake, a beautiful 40 foot deep spring fed lake. The name comes from the Native American Mahican name Quissich. To see all the many historical and interesting activities in this area, a car is necessary. Our home is secluded in a rural area, and conveniently located 15-20 minutes from Chatham, NY , and Lenox Massachusetts. There is also easy access to three ski resorts nearby, Hudson N.Y., and plenty of hiking opportunities in the Berkshire mountains.
