No amplified sound anytime Arrival Once you hit the dirt road we are only a few houses down. Parking You will find a large half circle gravel drive through with plenty of space for your vehicles. Home This traditional Mediterranean style house is a blend of classic and modern and sits on 1 acre of land. This 2,440 sq. ft. home was built in 2006 has central cooling with forced air and propane heating. Entry You will find a wooden bench to sit and kick off your shoes with a woven basket to store them. A place to hang your desert chic hat, purse and coat. Check yourself before leaving in a large round mid-century style mirror. Living Room The living space has high ceilings, geometric art, tropical feeling fans, two sofas one is a soft cognac leather and the other a firm mid-century vintage blue, a cozy fireplace to congregate around with family and friends. There are a couple of jute poufs to play cards or use the coffee table for eating sushi from the local favorite Aki Sushi. Find your spirit animal if that is a bird in the egg swivel chair. Use the side tables as removable trays to carry your drinks from place to place. Kitchen and Dining Bar seating for 2 so you can chat with the chef or wait for someone to make you some chilled beverages. There is also a little kitchen nook with seating for 4. A coffee station for some coffee while looking out the windows at the Joshua Trees and the small bunnies and tiny chipmunks that visit some early mornings and evenings. You have double ovens great for cooking for a large family. There is a second refrigerator in the garage if you are stocking up on drinks or prepping for a big meal. Courtyard, Pool, and Jacuzzi Outdoor dining for 8 with a beautiful view of the pool and garden. A backdrop of nature in the background with trees and mountains to enjoy especially at sunset. The rectangular pool has a shallow end for dipping your feet while sitting in a chair under an umbrella. Then, wade into and swim all the way to the 10ft deep end to find two built in chairs to sit or exit the pool on the other side. There are 2 daybeds with a shared umbrella for that private resort feel and 2 lounge chairs for sunning yourself like the lizards do here on rocks. If the day or night is on the cool side you also have a Jacuzzi to warm yourself up. Primary 1 – The Vintage Rainbow Room A color palette of leathery cognac, dusty pink, dusty blue and vintage mint creates a relaxing and calm environment. Enjoy a King size bed, lots of pillows and a view of the garden while you lay in bed. A writers desk for working remotely or getting inspired. His and hers chairs to enjoy your own little reading corner. There is also a canopied pouf to hide away for a little while. Open sliding glass doors onto the courtyard and pool for a morning mediation session or yoga. Bath 1 A walk-in shower to rinse away a days hike and giant bathtub to do a little self care while enjoying the nature outside from the two windows while you soak it in. His and hers sinks with a large mirror to prep for the day. There is a small private toilet room. Through the bathroom there is a walk-in closet to hang or store your favorite clothes and luggage. Primary 2 – The Southwestern Room A color palette of black, gold and white with southwestern accents and a canopy King bed makes you feel like you are glamping. Enjoy the vintage style artwork and modern light fixtures. This room has it’s own private entrance/exit to the courtyard and pool. Bath 2 A private shower/bath and toilet connected to your room. Bedroom 3 – The Pink Room A color palette of dusty pink, light natural wood and teal accents creates a soft and soothing environment. Enjoy a queen bed with beautiful hanging pendant lights for some late night reading or mood lighting. Bath 3 Shower/bath and toilet off the hallway for sharing or a pit stop. Bedroom 4 – The Red Room A color palette of rusty red and light natural wood with some geometric accents creates a vibrant warm room. Get cozy with two full beds and a large round mid-century mirror and DIY hat rack to hang all your cool desert hats. Bedroom 5 – The Blue Room A color palette of blue and light natural wood and macramé accents creates a calm space. This room can be used as a lounge room with stackable day beds or separated into four twin beds or pushed together to make two Kings. This room has a curtain closure for that boho vibe. Entertainment You have a movie projector where you can use the giant white wall in the living room to have a vintage cinema style experience from the comfort of the sofa. Plenty of indoor and outdoor games available like Corn hole bean bag game, Ping Pong table, Giant Jenga, Clue board game, Uno, Exploding kittens card game, Cards Against Humanity card game, deck of cards. We are NOT a party house. Quiet hours: 8pm-8am. No amplified sound anytime. Our neighbors can hear you. No unauthorized guests without written approval, day or night. The house is on a 1 acre in the Joshua Tree Friendly Hills neighborhood. Guests will have access to the entire property. We have a smartlock system for you to easily check in and check out. We will also send you a link to our website to see all the features and a description of how everything works. We are available per email and phone at anytime to answer your questions and provide any support if needed. Joshua Tree, California, United States Joshua Tree Highlands is a desirable neighborhood with large lots that backs up to BLM land and is less than 5 miles to the National Park. Our neighbors moved to Joshua Tree to escape the noise and chaos of the big city and we know that you're visiting to do the same. Noise travels far in the desert and we ask that you respect our neighbors privacy and enjoyment by keeping it down or moving inside past 8pm. County law bans any amplified sound day or night so leave your Bluetooth speakers at home. You'll probably want a car to get around unless you're an adventurer comfortable walking 2-10 miles depending on your destination. Our desert neighbors moved to Joshua Tree to enjoy nature peacefully and quietly. We know that you're visiting to do the same. Please be respectful by reducing noise outside before 8am and after 8pm, otherwise move inside. The county law bans any amplified sound day or night so leave your portable speakers at home. Internet and cell reception can be unreliable in this area. Please make sure to join the wifi at the house and turn on your wifi calling for the best coverage. There are security cameras on the exterior of the home. They are there for your security and safety as well as deliveries. NO DRONES. NO FILMING. NO COMMERCIAL USE. Jacuzzi use included in price, let us know if you plan to use it so we can plan heating schedule. Additional $200 per day to heat the pool, make sure to request this in advance for scheduling it takes about 6-8 hours depending on outside temperature and desired temperature with propane. During the winter, due to the weather and temperatures (dropping in the 40 degrees range at night), we can't heat the pool and during the summer, the pool is naturally hot at the right temperature and does not required to be heated to be perfect for you and your guests. All weekend stays must include Friday & Saturday night. Holiday weekends must include Friday - Monday.
