Our cozy retreat has a spacious living and dining rooms, stone fireplace, rustic exposed beams and natural cedar paneling. The kitchen has been recently updated to enhance the quality of this old lake house retreat The space Northport is the perfect quiet northern Michigan get-a-way - our cottage is rustic, the home is fed with well water and despite a heafty softening system it is still highly mineralized. We have a reverse osmosis system which makes for great drinking water, but other utilities struggle with iron which can cause discoloration, please use the washer with caution! No cable TV but excellent WiFi. Cathead Bay, the Lighthouse at Leelanau State Park and the most spectacular sunsets at Peterson Park are all a stone's throw away. Historic Fishtown in Leland, Sleeping Bear Dunes and the fun of Traverse City are all within a beautiful 30 minute car ride but if you're like us, you'll fall in love with the breeze off the lake and won't want to leave the property. Other things to note There are private steps down to the beach which is beautiful but can be difficult for groups with toddlers or health conditions
