Welcome to Mt Rumney Escapes, a peaceful retreat perched atop a mountain in 150 acres of bushland. Enjoy breathtaking views, serene surroundings, and native wildlife. Our largest property, Seaview Possum House, is perfect for families and groups, with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a rumpus room. Across six homes, we can accommodate up to 43 guests, offering a true Tasmanian off-grid experience. The space Mt Rumney Escapes is nestled on a mountain offering stunning views of Hobart, Seven Mile Beach, and beyond. Our accommodations include a mix of cozy retreats and larger homes for groups, events, and sports teams. Each property is fully equipped with modern comforts, and all houses are powered off-grid with tank water, solar panels, generators, and gas. Wildlife and bushland provide a unique experience. Guest access Guests have full access to their private retreat and property features, house 1 has 3x bedroom with king beds or can be split to singles, open plan kitchen/lounge/dinning area, ensuite and walk in robe in main bedroom and also another bathroom, there is a laundry with washing machine and dryer and a rumpus room and 2x sofa lounges. Other features including walking trails and wildlife encounters. Each home has heating, cooling, and laundry facilities. With self-check-in, your arrival is simple and convenient. Parking is available for cars, vans, and caravans. A car is necessary for access, as no public transport is available, but Ubers and taxis can be arranged. Other things to note • Gravel roads lead to the property, so please drive carefully. • No streetlights, perfect for stargazing. • You’ll encounter wildlife (wallabies, echidnas, lizards) and insects. • Fully off-grid with tank water, solar power, generators, gas, and a greywater system. • Wake up to panoramic views and fresh mountain air. • Future amenities will include BBQ huts, swimming pool, and gym. • Please note: When you make a booking, you agree to provide identification details and accept our house rules, terms and conditions.
