Welcome to our cottage located just 1 hour north of NYC! It is nestled into 2.7 acres of beautiful gardens, mossy groves, and lovely woods. Nature abounds: The property abuts the 4000 acres of the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. A trailhead begins right across the driveway. The cottage is equipped with a stone fireplace, spacious kitchen, living room area, table for dining and working, and a sleeping loft. During the summer, a private salt water pool is available. The space Update: The heated outdoor pool is open May 8 for spring/summer 2026! It is a private, salt water pool available for your exclusive use. You don't share the pool with us or anyone else. Highlights: - Secluded, cozy cottage with private driveway - Large stone fireplace, with firewood provided - Trailhead access to 4,000 acres of protected land across the street - Fast fiber internet for remote work - Private, heated saltwater pool (May to Sep) Things to note: - The cottage intentionally does not have a TV, offering a peaceful, unplugged experience - Cell service can be limited at times; Verizon has the strongest reception, followed by AT&T - Power outages may occur during severe weather, which is typical for the area. We have a generator that powers the HVAC as well as lighting. - During heavy snowfall, a four-wheel-drive vehicle is strongly recommended to navigate the steep gravel driveway The cottage is secluded, surrounded by nature, with a private parking area. The cottage itself is extremely cozy with a gorgeous stone fireplace, dining/work area, and separate loft bedroom above a spiral staircase. We feel the gardens and terrain of the property are just magical. There are no other houses visible on 3 sides of the property. Our main house (where we live) is about 100 ft away downhill. On the north side, in the distance you can just about see a farmhouse belonging to a 22-acre horse farm. Our kitchen has all the essentials: pots and pans, olive oil, salt & pepper, a variety of spices, cutting board, toaster oven, microwave, plates etc. Make yourself at home and feel free to use what you find. We have all that you need to start a fire: a butane lighter, firestarters, and firewood. A stack of firewood is available right on the property. Internet speed is fast. We subscribe to the fastest Verizon Fios fiber internet, which is gigabit speed. This is perfect for Zoom calls etc. Most of our linens are organic cotton. We provide a thick goose down comforter to keep you warm during the winter months. If it is too warm for you, you can also find a thinner comforter in the drawers. Other things to note - Please note that we don't have a TV in the cottage, which you might see in some of our photos. - Cell phone reception can be spotty. Verizon works best, AT&T next best. - Electricity in the area occasionally goes out during heavy storm. - The spiral staircase may be difficult for older guests, especially at night. - We love children, but the cottage is not suitable for them, given the spiral staircase, the pool, and other safety concerns.
