We take “Country” in Thompson Country Lodging to heart...definitely not a contemporary space. Missy’s diner is just next door. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner daily (Except Mondays and Tuesdays). Check with them for updated times and days. Elk Mountain Ski Resort is 18-23 minutes away (depending on road conditions and what kind of driver you are.) Arlo’s Country Store is 6.3 miles down the road. They have a market, deli, pub, bar, packaged goods and gas station. Bands every Friday and Saturday nights. Address: 10340 PA-171, Union Dale, PA 18470 -Parking lot -deck -very small yard space -House is single renter use Owner is available by phone call, text, air bnb messaging, email. Very small town. We love the ability to get away from it all in thompson. Highlights: -close to elk mountain skiing -close to missy’s diner -close to rooney’s ice cream parlor (seasonal) -Rails to Trails hike and bike trail a couple blocks walk -nice walk to the waterfall in the pics, not giant or anything, just pretty... You can get around on bike or car. You will not likely find an Uber/Lyft to anything around. - -be sure to bring your coolers of food. There is no supermarket nearby. -there is WiFi and tv monitors as well as DVD players, bu NO regular television to watch (Most people use their Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime, fubo etc. Using the internet). The new smart TV on the second floor has dozens of apps already installed of which a number of them have free movies and shows without you having to actually sign up for anything. -the driveway is skinny between two buildings, do not come in fast or disoriented. I have a Yukon XL and I can maneuver with no problem, as long as I have my mirrors folded in. Do not plan on taking any trailers back into the parking area. There is a masons lodge across The street with a large parking lot. Feel free to use it in the event there are issues with driveway. In the event the driveway is blocked by a car parking in front of it. Go into Missys diner which is 15 feet away and ask the person with whatever car it is to move it.
