Coorong National Park is only a few steps away from us, where you can appreciate the "special something" that is difficult to describe the Coorong and its environment. Come and stay at Samphire and sink into that "special something" as the sound of traffic is replaced by the sounds of wind and birdsong and the street lights replaced by the moon and the star. We are 14 km to Meningie, two hours drive to Adelaide and 45 minutes drive from The Bend Motorsport Park at Tailem Bend. The space Samphire is a private, fully self-contained off the grid attached apartment with decks and a dedicated and fenced garden for the exclusive use of guests. There is free WiFi throughout the suite and the garden. It sleeps up to 4 people. The apartment is comprised of: • A lounge/dining room that is air conditioned and has a Morso wood-burning-heater. It includes a 4K 50” T.V. and an all-region Blu Ray/DVD player, usb charging plugs, a wireless charging pad and two mobile workstations. There are board games, books and dvds for guest amusement. Bifold doors open onto a deck from where you can see a slice of the Northern Lagoon of the Coorong and the Younghusband Peninsula. • A double bedroom (Queen size bed) with a sliding door opening onto a private deck and a twin bedroom (the beds can be joined to make a double bed). Both bedrooms have ceiling fans and USB charging plugs. Linen is included. • A small but extensively equipped kitchen has an Asko washing machine (washing liquid provided), a microwave oven, 2 induction cooktops, an electric kettle and toaster, and a small fridge. The kitchen is well equipped with cutlery and crockery for four, cooking utensils, as well as a fire-extinguisher and fire blanket. Oil, salt, sugar and pepper are provided. Different type of tea bags, Ceylon tea, home-mixed Chai, instant coffee and milk are provided. • A bathroom/shower/toilet suite. The bathroom includes a first aid kit, hair dryer and hair straightener, sensitive skin-friendly body lotion, liquid soap, organic shampoo and conditioner, 50+ sunscreen and ladies' essentials. Bath towels are supplied. • In the garden we have built a deck, largely protected from the wind, as a winter suntrap. It features an outdoor kitchen and barbecue with dining table and chairs and a coffee table. Herbs for guest use grow next to the deck. If it’s the shade rather than the sun that is required there is another outdoor area which is well shaded in the afternoon, is adjacent to the kitchen and looks onto the garden. We offer our guests the options of cooking everything for themselves, having all cooking done by the hosts, or some variation of these options. It's all open to discussion. We endeavour to be environmentally responsible. Our property is off-the-grid (solar powered), and we collect rainwater for all our uses. Our efforts include the provision of environmental products for your use. On site and off street parking are available. Guest access This is a private fully self-contained apartment with decks and a dedicated and fenced garden for the exclusive use of guests. Other things to note If you are bringing young children, we have a Portacot (please provide your own child's bedding), BPA free crockery and cutlery, a 2 in 1 booster seat, a bathtub, a child toilet seat and a step stool. Provisionally, we accept pets into the guest suite, but please discuss this with us at the time of booking. ​ There are outside areas where dogs will be secure. Pets are welcome inside, but must not be in any carpeted area or on furniture. We would ask that owners ensure their good behaviour and that they do not damage or soil the furniture, floor coverings or bedding. We ask pet owners to bring their own pet bedding and blankets. If pet owners fail to provide pet bedding, we can provide this service but there will be a charge of $40 per pet per stay. Cash Payment Only. ​ Owners are responsible for damage done by pets, and expected to clean up pet mess. We also request that pets not be left alone in the apartment or garden while owners are shopping/sightseeing etc. Pets must not be allowed to wander or chase wildlife. Off the lead is not allowed in the Coorong National Park. Pet owners are expected to control their pet's noise so that neighbours are not disturbed. WiFi Internet access is provided and free of charge. We reserve the right to monitor network performance and user usage. Due to our rural location we only have a limited amount of data. 1.5 GB data is allocated for each booking per day and strictly 1 device only. The Internet access provided is intended for general use such as access to information, email and messaging. Shows or movies streaming and on demand are not suitable due to the limited data. Use of our network for illegal activity is prohibited and will be reported to local authorities. Any property left behind by guests during a stay will be held for a period of 1 month. The guest will be asked to provide an appropriate, pre-paid, return-addressed package to post items back. We ask that all guests agree to respect the privacy and peace of neighbours and the owners at all times. We reserve the right to cancel a booking with immediate effect if guests are not honouring this agreement or causing a disturbance/nuisance to neighbours or the owners. If we need to cancel your booking with us, please be aware that we cannot be held liable for circumstances beyond our control and that our liability to you is limited to the refund of any payment already made. Not suitable for wheelchairs. Please do not light candles or tea lights or smoke anywhere in the property due to fire danger.
