Hidden retreat close to i80, downtown Colfax, and the famous transcontinental railroad (the Zephyr stops here). The studio is a separate building on half an acre at the front of the property next to the carport. We like to surprise guests with free-range chicken eggs and sourdough bread as available. Close to hiking trails, lakes, and the snow. The A/C unit keeps the space cool after a long hike and a space heater keeps you warm in the winter months! Retreat for the adventurist. It has a cozy cabin feel. The kitchenette includes an oven/air-fryer, single electric burner, microwave, refrigerator, sink, coffee maker, cooking utensils, and dishes. If anything is missing, don’t hesitate to ask. Treasures await in this hidden retreat. Feel free to roam the area and visit our chickens. Our large dog, Buddy, may come to say hello, but he is harmless. He is also very resourceful, please always keep your door locked when you leave. We live on-site. Close to hiking trails, wineries, breweries, dining, downtown Colfax, and North Tahoe. Colfax, and the surrounding area, is an outdoor paradise for the adventurist. Please park, either on the round about driveway or next to the carport. The carport is used by the homeowner, but provides gated access to the studio suite. Colfax has rolling blackouts during summer. The owner is not responsible for power outages, although we have not experienced this in 3 years. There is a generator on the property for more prolonged outages. Please check the weather prior to your arrival.
