Welcome to "BEAR NECESSITIES", our mountain lake home, a true piece of heaven on earth, tucked away in the Great Smoky Mountains on the largest private lake in NC. The space Since 1903, the Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, Firestones, Henry Ford, President James Buchanan, Thomas Edison etc were regular guests and referred to this glorious private lake with 15 miles of shore, as "Little Switzerland." No expense was spared on this Extraordinary, Luxurious, Spacious, Clean, totally Remodeled and fully equipped property, located in a very serene and peaceful place, where you and your family can make lasting memories. Make yourself feel at home with our fully equiped kitchen, including: - AGA gas stove, - Speed cooker, - New Weber gas grill, - Coffee grinder and maker, - Ice cream machine, - Vitamix blender, - Food processor, - Crock pot, - Ice maker, - Toaster, - High chair, and much more. The large master bedroom has a very relaxing king sized bed with 8 SLEEP intelligent cooling & heating mattress for his / her side; as well as a beautiful fire place. All bedrooms have comfortable beds and extra bedding if needed. -The master bedroom also has a nice and comfortable crib and a toddler bed. - Property sleeps 8 adults comfortably, but we can also provide a few extra Air Mattresses upon request. - Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime TV, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Music Unlimited, etc - The home offers a laptop-friendly workspace, WIFI etc. - Unlimited hot water for your shower and bath. - Plenty of bath / beach towels for the lake. - 4 indoor Fireplaces. One in the master bedroom, one in the living room, one in the TV room and one on the outside patio. - Get cozy by one of these or snuggle up by the lakeside Fire Pit. Fire wood provided. - Marshmallow roasting sticks available, in case you want to make smore’s. - Family Games such as Ping Pong table, giant Connect 4, Ping Pong, Chess, Yahtzee, Jenga, Monopoly, CandyLand, SkipBo, Dominos, Checkers, Poker Set, Backgammon, Cards Games, etc… - Adult / Kids Kayaks, Stand Up Paddle Boards, Canoe, Lake Toys etc complimentary. - Plenty of parking space available. This is a spectacular property with stunning lake, mountain and sunset views. We have many lovely places to sit and take in the beauty of this pristine place: - Front porch rocking chairs, - Comfortable and ample sitting on the outside patio, - Lounges on top of boathouse deck, - Adirondack chairs / lounges next to the water, etc. Walk a few steps down to the boathouse where you can enjoy sun bathing, canoeing, stand up paddle boarding, and kayaking. There is a launch area for the kayaks and canoe, which makes getting in and out of the lake easy. From our brand new private dock, you can go Swimming, Fishing, Boating, Water-Skiing, Tubing, or just cruise the lake taking in the spectacular sights. Several adult / kids Life Jackets are provided. If you find you need more, or you’d like to rent a boat, you can rent from Lake Toxaway Marine. (All boat rentals must go through lake Toxaway Marine). You are more than welcome to tie your boat on our dock. The lake house is just minutes from main Highway (US 64) making going shopping or sightseeing fast and easy. Please let us know in advance if you’d like an early Check-in or late Check-out, and we'll do our best to accommodate you. Our goal is to help make your stay an experience of a lifetime! We manage our own property, so if there is ever an issue you can contact us 24/7. We also have a local team that can help take care of anything you may need. Other things to note We provide adult / kids kayaks, a few paddle boards, a canoe, inflatables / floaties, life jackets etc complimentary. If you would like to rent a boat, skis and tubes, or need more life jackets, they may be rented at the Lake Toxaway Marina. Have fun on the lake swimming, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing etc... or find a nearby trail. You will love the peace and serenity you will find here.
