The Rest Nest
Description
The Rest Nest is a small, cozy place for someone needing a place for a shower and sleep or an extended stay. There is a full kitchen and laundry as well as all new HVAC, paint, refinished hardwood floors. updated electric & plumbing have also been added. The house is located in a very quiet older neighborhood on a brick street. Ottawa University is a few blocks south of The Rest Nest and it is within blocks of downtown shopping and places to eat, the rail trails & other local attractions. The space The Rest Nest is quiet and cozy with everything you need for comfort while traveling. This home is decorated with all things that "nest" and their abodes, new and antique! A comfortable, clean and efficient space to accommodate you during your stay here with decor from my favorite past time of attending estate auctions and unique finds. Two bedrooms, large closet, enclosed back porch/reading/laundry area and dedicated work space, wifi, (bonus clothesline in back!) and a relaxing sitting area outside with peaceful fish pond (please, DO NOT FEED THE FISH) are for your exclusive enjoyment. Off and on street parking is available - large driveway can accommodate more than one vehicle. I am always rearranging, changing and adding things to make your stay enjoyable. Guest access Guests can enjoy the entire home and yard. There is one closet inside that holds extra linens and the garage is kept locked for storage. I do have to stop by and access things from the garage from time to time as well us maintenance on yard and fish pond. Other things to note This is a perfect location for parents and family visiting students for university and high school graduations and local sporting events. Ottawa also hosts The Power of the Past tractor show and the Ol'Marias River Run Car Show (car trailers can be accommodated) here in the fall. There a several area venues for weddings and other special occasions nearby including The Historic Post Office and The Bottle House. Besides unique eateries and great antique/flea market shopping, there is also a bicycle shop downtown where you can rent bikes for the trail or local riding and sight seeing. The Old Depot Museum is a great place to learn about Ottawa and its history and the Carnegie Center in City Park displays local artists, a playground, bandstand and historic cabin.
