Details
Like camping or glamping? I’m offering my cozy summer home to you while I’m traveling. Situated in the Catskill Region, my place is within walking distance of lakes, rivers, and streams. Many of the most popular local attractions are within reach by car. I share a driveway with my neighbors, but my property rests on two private acres of tall maple trees, fern groves, rock formations, medicinal herbs, and three fire pit areas. The drinking water is clean and local wildlife abounds. No TV or A/C!💚 New in 2023! Outdoor BBQ Char-griller. What makes the space special is it’s close proximity to NYC (2 Hours) while feeling both remote and close to suburban amenities. The decor is colorful, yet warm and welcoming, like its host! Guests have access to the entire home and two+ acre property. Down the hill from me is a wetland area that is home to beavers, frogs, “fields” of water lilies and ferns. There is a washer and dryer in the home, three fire pit areas outside, 1 1/2 baths, three bedrooms, and four beds (including a sofa bed in the living room). The WiFi is solid while telephone reception is sometimes limited with certain providers. However, there is a telephone “land”line connected through the internet. I am readily available by Airbnb messaging. OFF SUNDAY. While I live out of town most of the year, I am responsive and accommodating of diverse guest needs. The aesthetic of the Catskills is sometimes “post apocalyptic” due to frequent sightings of long abandoned buildings and resorts. Nature lovers and photographers won’t find a shortage of material. The village of Woodbourne feels depressed and lifeless after Labor Day yet is bustling with Jewish campers, mostly from NYC, during the exquisite summers. Nearby Ellenville, Liberty, and Monticello are lively all year. A car is a necessity, however, the coaches from NYCs Port Authority Bus terminal make daily stops off the main road (Hwy 42) about 2 miles away. I take Sundays off. While your privacy is valued, we share a driveway with the next door neighbors. They also have a very friendly (but poorly trained) young German Shepherd. Your pets and children are kindly welcome! No TV or A/C. Check yourself for ticks. These are the Catskills. Ticks live outside and are very, very common in wooded areas. http://Nytimes.com/interactive/2021/06/11/well/tick-disease-lyme.html
