Quirky old rustic Pittsburgh home in a busy urban environment. The location is very close to the liberty tunnel, route 51, and convenient to the parkway west and east. We are approximately 35 miles from the Cracker plant in Monaca PA. The space This Airbnb is designed to offer basic accommodations at a fair price to the traveling public. Our bathroom is older, our kitchen is older, our house is older. If updated accommodations are what you desire please keep in mind our accommodations are basic, rustic, very quirky, and older. We do not offer laundry but there is a laundromat with in walking distance. Keep in mind this is a busy city street and you will hear all the sounds of the city. You will hear cars, truck, busses, trains, fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, light rail transit trains, and any other sound you might hear in the city. This is a lower unit, there is a guest unit above this unit. You will hear the guests above you: *opening the front door *walking up the steps *walking around their apartment *watching TV *listening to music *talking to one another If you ever lived in a older house you might be familiar with these sort of sounds but if you did not we want you to be aware you will hear everything mentioned above. If you are noise sensitive keep this in mind before you book this unit. This unit does not have basement access. This unit is heated by the central heating system of the property. The temperature is set between 68 and 70 degrees during the winter months and is not adjustable by the guest. You will hear the heating system fan while the system is running. The living room 50 inch LED 4K TV is attached to an exterior antenna mounted on the roof of the property and most local stations come in well. This TV is also equipped with a Roku player and an Amazon firestick so you will be able to stream all your favorite shows. There is a smaller TV in the bedroom with a Roku player only to stream your favorite shows. This TV is not attached to an exterior antenna and it only gets some local stations intermittently. There are trash can enclosures on the side of the property to put your garbage bags. Guest access the entire first floor living space: Livingroom kitchenette bedroom bathroom entry Other things to note This space is cooled by a window unit A/C in the bedroom during the summer months. This is the only cooling the unit has during the summer months. The dedicated workspace is a bar height table and chair in the dining area. Please consider this prior to booking with us. Security cameras are in use around outside entry. This property is in a industrial section of Pittsburgh on a very busy city street. You will hear cars, trucks, buses, fire trucks, ambulances, police cars, light rail transit trains, and any other city sound you can imagine. Parking is free and you can park in front of the house but on the other side of the street. Spaces are also available on the side street. At this time we are pleased to offer high speed Verizon FiOS WIFI . We do have a 50 inch 4K HD TV on a antenna and all the local stations seem to come in well. If you bring your cable provider password you can stream all your favorite channels from home via the Roku player or Amazon fire stick connected to the HDTV. This Airbnb offers a memory foam queen size bed in the master bedroom. This house is very old and so is the plumbing. We ask that you only flush toilet paper down the toilet, please do not flush tampons, sanitary napkins, condoms, or baby wipes down the toilet drain. The furnace temperature is pre-set and you do not have access to the thermostat during the winter months. You can only enter the unit from the side door, it is a private entrance. You will see the address on the porch under the light and the lock box in the door jamb to the right about shoulder high. When you enter the hall the light switch is on the front wall and will illuminate with a dim orange light. We recommend you have your phone light on to assist you to see the code on the lock box if its dark out, there is a street light to help but its not that bright.
