We have a private sandy beach. The lake water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming and water sports. There is a large dock for hanging out by the lake and a floating dock for diving and jumping. After a fun day in the sun enjoy roasting marshmallows around the camp fire. We have a private sandy beach that is a set of stairs down from the cottage (beach access also down the driveway, no stairs). The lake water is crystal clear and refreshing in the summer months. From the beach it’s a shallow, sandy walk out perfect for kids or lounging with your feet in the water. The lake is home to an abundance of creatures. There are crayfish, frogs, minnows, water striders and dragon flies. There are also large and small mouth bass and lake trout that like to eat these creatures. The bass fishing is particularly good on Grandview Lake. You can fish from the dock or there is a shoal that runs parallel to the shore about 75 ft out. There’s a large “L” shaped dock where your group can catch some rays or you can sneak out with a cup of coffee in the morning and watch the sun rise through the mist. We have a floating dock for sunbathing or diving and jumping. There is a canoe and a paddle boat for touring the usually peaceful lake. We have lots of PFDs as well. The driveway doubles as a boat launch, so if you have your own craft you are welcome to bring it along. The sand is soft so a 4x4 is required. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. The dining area has a large harvest table that seats 10. There is an enclosed porch that is all screened windows that’s great for sitting at night or when it’s pouring rain. It’s also a great space for playing cards or board games. There’s sliding glass doors that separate the porch from the rest of the cottage so if you need somewhere for kids to be kids this is it. The porch is also somewhat of a curio cabinet of things collected over the years. Photos and notes from friends and guests adorn the walls. The main grounds have two picnic tables for outside lunches. There is also a fire pit with plenty of seating. The driveway can accommodate about six cars. My parents and grandparents purchased the property in 1976. At that time it was just a garage with barn doors. Over the years it has evolved into what it is now and we are happy to share it with you. Guest access The entire cottage is accessible minus a store room upstairs. Other things to note Guests must supply their own bed linen, pillow cases and bath towels. We will supply dish cloths, dish towels and hand towels. We are supplying camp fire wood this year.
