It is stocked with towels (including beach towels) and bed linen, and has a fully equipped kitchen for home cooking. Treasure Cove is a quiet residential community at the eastern end of New Providence with 24-hour security and a gated entrance. The beauty of this home is that it enjoys the security of a safe neighbourhood but the feel of being on a private island. You will feel like a true-true Bahamian. Buses are few and far between at this end of the island, and it's about a 7-minute walk just to get out of the Treasure Cove community, so renting a car is a must. But if you like to walk, jog or swim you have a safe, tranquil neighbourhood and the ocean to choose from! The Palm Cay Marina and Beach Club is in the next community along on the Yamacraw Road - literally less than a five-minute drive away - with a restaurant, beach bar, yoga, live music and other entertainment. Renting a car is an absolute must as the gated Treasure Cove community is right at the eastern tip of the island. Downtown Nassau is a 15-20 minute drive away depending on traffic, and taxis can be expensive. About the security deposit: this is payable ONLY if a claim for damages is filed with Airbnb within 14 days of your departure. We have never had to file for damages from a guest so far and don't anticipate ever having to do so :-) About the cancellation policy: Airbnb only allows three options, none of which we liked! So even though we have it set to 'strict', if you cancel at least 30 days before arrival you will receive a 100% refund (though this may not include the Airbnb booking fee). If you cancel at least 7 to 14 days before arrival you will receive a 50% refund. What to pack: bathing suits, sunglasses, suntan lotion, hats, lightweight windbreaker, sweater or shawl if coming in winter, shorts, lightweight shirts, lightweight long pants, socks, comfortable shoes, camera, film, batteries, and all needed medicines, bug spray and itch cream. Cellphones; If you want to make or receive calls during your stay in the Bahamas, contact your provider BEFORE LEAVING HOME to add an international calling plan that covers your usage in the Bahamas. You can cancel the plan after you leave. Otherwise, if your phone is unlocked, you can purchase a pay-as-you-go (prepaid) sim card at Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) at the Mall at Marathon.
