Three outdoor parking spaces are available for you and your guests. You will be able to access the home via self check-in coordinated by the host. Please make yourself at home. Other things to note ROAD TO/FROM THE LODGE - The Lodge is easily found by entering the property's address into Google or Apple Maps. NOTE: The driveway is located 30-40 yards past the point where Google or Apple Maps says you have arrived. The house number is displayed on stacked rocks and is a right hand turn. For guests arriving from the East/Denver Metro area you can expect to take Interstate 70 west for a majority of the drive until reaching Exit 248 for Beaver Brook / Floyd Hill. For guests coming from the west Exit 247 for Beaver Brook / Floyd Hill. Once making the exit The Lodge is just a 10 minute drive further. The road is paved until the final 1.7 miles. This stretch of gravel road has steep grades, exposure (some places do not have guard rails) and the road narrows. This is very common in mountain communities. SNOW - One to five times per year we have considerable snowfall. ALL WHEEL OR FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED OCTOBER - MAY. If a snow event happens during your stay guests will be responsible for shoveling the front patio. We do have a plowing service, but due to demand there can (sometimes) be a wait for the driveway to be plowed. Driveway plowing is same-day, but the timeframe (morning/afternoon/evening) can vary. Please be patient. The road to the property is maintained by the county and is extremely well taken care of. Our experience has been that the road is typically plowed by 10:00 am. Planning in advance helps immensely if snow is expected. WIND - The Lodge occasionally gets high winds, especially in the winter months, sometimes reaching up to 60 miles per hour. The property is extremely well constructed and such winds are not a concern, but the noise from the wind can be quite noticeable. Ensure you and your guests understand that such conditions may exist during your stay. WILDLIFE - One of the greatest things about The Lodge is the variety of wildlife you may see during your stay. All year round we have a variety of birds, chipmunks and squirrels. Often in the winter we also have Mule Deer. They are very curious but please DO NOT FEED THEM. They are still wild animals and may be unpredictable. DO NOT LEAVE ANY FOOD ITEMS IN YOUR VEHICLE. Black Bears have been seen in the general area and may try to enter your vehicle if food items, wrappers or drink cups are left inside.
