Guest access The Greenway Trail across the street gives easy access to Hammonasset Beach by foot or bicycle. If going by car is easier, there is parking right by the beach in the park. The Greenway Trail will also take you towards Downtown Madison which is 1.5 miles. The trail ends about 1/4 mile before reaching downtown and Rte 1 is a busy road, so parents with small children might find it best to go by car.
