The cabin is secluded yet minutes from the town of Sylva where you can enjoy a number of excellent restaurants, breweries and small town shopping. Pinnacle Park, the state's only certified therapy forest, is within walking distance of the cabin. Our cabin is about 20 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and about 40 minutes from Smoky Mountain National Park. Soak in the hot tub after enjoying a day of hiking! You will not need a 4-wheel drive unless snow or ice is present. Once inside the neighborhood, you will encounter a single-lane, 1/3-mile gravel road. While it is not considered steep for this area, it may feel uneasy to those who have not driven on gravel mountain roads, particularly if arriving after dark. WILL I SEE WILDLIFE? Possibly - we are located at the edge of a wilderness area so it is possible you will see a snake, field mouse, or bear. Most common sighting is the NC Rat Snake which is harmless and protected by law. Occasionally, a guest reports a bear or deer sighting.
