The park in front of the Old River House has granite stairs going into the river for swimming at high tide or launching a kayak. This park was once the front yard property of the Old River House. Silas Perkins daughter who lived in the Old River House in the 1930's, donated the property to the town in memory of her dad, a famous poet. There is a small monument in the "Silas Perkins Park" that described this and many poems. Other things to note All of Kennebunkport is a quick walk away on sidewalks.
