Church View Cottage C 1750 and Barn is tucked away in a quiet corner of Hatherleigh’s picturesque market square. Peace and quiet and clear skies are what you will find. The cottage and barn are very well appointed and comfortable, and decorated to a good standard. Good walks or cycling from the door with great pubs, cafe, Co-Op, and chip shop within a few steps. It is also an ideal location for exploring further afield and for Devon in general due to Hatherleigh’s central location. The space From the square you enter a character hallway that leads into the lounge, with its large inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove. There is comfortable seating with armchairs and a sofa, with a cosy atmosphere. This leads through to the dinning room and kitchen. The large kitchen is fully equipped for full catering and the dinning room offers a good sized extendable table with plenty of seating. Also downstairs is a utility room with toilet, sink, washer / dryer and freezer. Upstairs you will find the master bedroom, with king size bed and single pull out chair bed, with plenty of wardrobe space, and great views out over Hatherleigh towards Dartmoor. The second bedroom offers a comfortable double bed with single bunk bed above. Also boasting plenty of storage space. Across from this is a beautifully finished bathroom with walk in shower. Beyond the kitchen and dinning room you will find the courtyard, a haven of peace and tranquillity, with garden furniture. Then entrance to.. The Barn - converted from the towns old cobblers / blacksmiths workshop. Upon entry you will find a well equipped kitchen area, including fridge, cooker, and microwave. Also on this level is the bathroom including shower and heated towel rail. Stairs lead up to a spacious open plan living and bedroom area with seating, table, smart TV, a king size bed a single bed and single chair bed. Equipped with storage heaters, and USB plugs. The barn has ample storage. Guest access Great walks can be found from the door, with two great pubs both serving food, just a stones throw away. A post office, cafe, and Co-op shop are also a short walk down the high street. There is parking for one car in the courtyard accessed via the side entrance gate to the property. There is a height restriction of 1.95m. Alternatively there is parking available around the square or adjoining roads or the top of the churchyard. Roads are narrow in places but this is rural Devon. Guests have access to the whole property. Other things to note Dogs are very welcome at Church View. However we do ask that they are not left alone in the property as we have had damage and noise disturbance in the past. Thank you for your understanding on this matter. Marilyn and Neil
