Your local host Lel will give you a warm Jamaican welcome and have you settled. Again welcome and thank you for coming you will have an Irie time! Just a few updates coming this month based on feedback from my Dear Guests! 1) New Windows were installed all around in February 2021 this will allow better insulation and more sunlight inside. 2) New quiet and more powerful 12000 BTU split unit Air Conditioners are scheduled to be installed in the bedrooms by the end of March. 3) New front gates with locks were installed February 2021 for added security. 4) Some bathroom and kitchen upgrades are also scheduled for the end of March which will include removal of bath tub and installation of shower with new drainage. New tiles and backsplash in the kitchen. 5) Also I plan on getting better equipped for guests looking to work remotely while on vacation so plan on setting up a work station where you can dock your laptop. This will include a Dell flat screen monitor, keyboard and mouse with HDMI and VGA cables. 6) Netflix etc for those rainy days. 7) Lighting for the deck 8) New locks I take feedback from my guest's seriously and I am always working on improving so stay tuned! The Saltaire Bungalow at Rose Hall is a two bedroom 1 bathroom hurricane resistant abode. It is completely private, absolutely nothing is shared. It is fully furnished with 2 queen beds, washer, line dry, refrigerator, water heater, bathroom, dining and living room furniture, TV. You will have complete privacy as you will have the entire house and yard to yourself. There are no other guests to share with. The unique features of this house is that it's only a 10 minute hike (650 meters) to the beach and it backs into a tropical rain-forest. One of the very few properties where you can hike to the beach. Since the Beach is secluded always go with company since there are no lifeguards nor security guards. The Bungalow is 10 minute walk to Sea Castles and about a 15 minute walk to the Cinnamon Hill Golf Course (1.66 km) and Rose Hall Hilton Hotel (1.02 km) should you want to purchase a day or evening pass. The Sangster International Airport (MBJ) is about 15 minutes drive. The world famous Doctor's Cave Beach which is located on "The Hip Strip" is about 17 minutes away. The Shops at Rose Hall are under 10 minutes drive. The Saltaire Bungalow at Rose Hall is a block away (266 meters) from the A1 North Coast Hwy so transportation is never an issue. However, you are on a longer stay it is probably best to rent a car so you can see more and move around easily. Please remember that in Jamaica we drive on the left. WATER AND ELECTRICITY SUPPLY Generally there is no widespread water pressure or electricity outages we are on the Rose Hall Development grid which is the same that supplies the Rose Hall Hilton resort. There is also a 650 gallon water reserve tank which provides enough water for 4 guests for a week should there be any disruption in service. Another thing to note is that the Bungalow has a newly installed 10/2017 hot water heater so there is hot water 24/7. INTERNET ACCESS AND MOBILE PHONE SERVICE Free WiFi provided by Flow Internet is now available. For local mobile service it is recommended that you take an unlocked phone so you can purchase a local SIM card and minutes. KITCHEN A full kitchen is provided with utensils, pots, pans, plates, cups, glasses, stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker. SUPERMARKET It may be a good idea to stop at the supermarket en route from MBJ airport to The Bungalow. The supermarkets are at (9.28 km) Whitter Village Shopping Center or Half Moon Shopping Village. Alternately you can head east on the A1 Main Road to Greenwood Plaza (7.25 km). LIVING/DINING ROOM A cozy living and dining room awaits you with a 5 piece pub style dining room set and a 3 piece living room set awaits you. The living room is tastefully decorated and comes equipped with a newly installed air conditioner. Again this is all private. Nothing is shared. BEDROOMS Each bedroom features a new queen sized bed and comes complete with fresh linen with night table and a standard sized closet with shelves and hangers. Each room is equipped with a newly installed Air Conditioner so you never have a hot day or hot nights. BATHROOM The bathroom is newly renovated with a new bathtub, tiles and sink. It is sparkling clean and fresh towels, soap and toilet paper are provided. LAUNDRY Washer is provided and line dry (however do not leave your clothes on the line when away). PARKING Parking is included for free in the gated driveway. PATIO & DECK A small patio is available at the front of the house and a large private deck in the rear built 7/17. Perfect spot to feel the sunshine, watch the birds and feel the sea breeze. The deck faces the rain-forest so you can always see and hear the birds. BEACH Beach towels, chairs and boogie boards are available for your use. The local beach is only a 10 minute walk away. However, it has no life guards or security. If you want an excellent beach that is rated among the best in the world then Dr's Cave Beach is the place to be. I highly recommend it. LAWN & GARDEN The lawn is an ideal spot to spread a blanket and soak up the sun .or to practice yoga. The yard has many fruit trees such as, Ackee (National Fruit), Banana, Plantain, Mango, Lime and Orange. There are also lots of birds as the yard backs into the rain-forest. SMOKING Absolutely no smoking is permitted indoors but you may smoke outside. SECURITY The Bungalow is located in Rose Hall a secure part of town and is less than a quarter mile to the Barrett Town Police Station. The Bungalow is also fully secured with window guards and protective gates. Other safety features include smoke detectors in each room and a fire extinguisher in the kitchen. Outside Guests Visitors For your safety outside guests are not permitted. Only registered guests please! Guest access Guest have complete access to the house. All private nothing is shared. Other things to note Lel will be your host while staying at The Bungalow. She can make arrangements for you such as tours etc. Let me know in advance if you need a cab to pick you up to and from the airport and I can arrange it. If you need a babysitter Lel can arrange for one at a reasonable rate. The bungalow does not have a crib or cots for infants so if you have young ones and have a portable that could work or just buy one at the local Courts furniture store.
