Description

The space Birch - Private Island Farmhouse Retreat in Lake Champlain Birch - Private Island Farmhouse Retreat in Lake Champlain Stay on a private island in Lake Champlain! Accessible only by boat, Garden Island is a 30-acre private island offering a rare and peaceful Vermont escape. Birch is Garden Island’s second largest home, a historic farmhouse built around 1850 and set on an open lawn with views stretching toward the lake. Guests enjoy full access to the island’s sandy beach, open meadow, and wooded walking trails. Spend your days kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, or taking the kids out on a paddleboat. All non-motorized lake equipment is included in your stay. Swim from the dock, relax in a hammock, or enjoy evenings under a sky full of stars. With no cars on the island, the setting is calm, natural, and intentionally unplugged. Birch combines historic character with generous gathering space. The large screened-in porch overlooks the lawn and toward the water, ideal for family meals, board games, and long summer evenings. Inside, the home offers four bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms, comfortably accommodating larger families or multi-generational groups. One bedroom and a full bathroom are conveniently located on the main level, making the layout accessible and practical. Upstairs bedrooms provide additional space and privacy. With its classic farmhouse proportions, wide lawn, and proximity to both beach and meadow, Birch is well-suited for families who want room to spread out while staying connected to the lake.
