Stay in this historical homestead and discover life in rural Vermont. This home is family and pet friendly. The space Originally built in 1855, this beautiful farmhouse was fully restored in 2013. This 12 room house has 5 bedrooms, 2 baths, and is located in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Whether visiting Vermont to get away and relax in the country, or to take part in some of the plentiful outdoor activities that it offers, this home will make for a perfect vacation for you and your family. With the VAST snowmobile trail system easily accessible from the property and both Jay Peak and Burke Mountain about 20 miles away, this house is the perfect destination for winter enthusiasts. Jay Peak’s indoor water park is also open year round for those who would like a break from winter activities. Winter is not the only season full of fun and adventurous activities in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. The summer season brings activities like hiking and mountain biking, as well as kayaking, fishing, swimming, and golfing. Hike some of the numerous and beautiful nearby mountains, or bike the Kingdom Trails system in the Burke area. Kayak, fish, or swim in Lake Memphremagog, Crystal Lake, or Lake Willoughby. All are nearby. You can also fish the Black River from the back yard. Not far away, Jay Peak Resort is home to an 18-hole championship golf course, in addition to an ice arena, tram rides, and as previously mentioned, an indoor waterpark. There are many restaurants nearby, and the house is just a short distance from the Newport area, which has anything one could need. The house is also on a well-traveled road just 5 miles from I-91, so roads are well taken care of in the winter. It is just over 3 hours from Boston, under 6 hours from New York City, and 2 hours from Montreal. Amenities: * 5 bedrooms -- 2 with queen beds, 1 with queen and single, 1 with a double bed, 1 with a single bed * living room, dining room, well equipped eat-in kitchen with table and breakfast bar * closet space * washer/dryer and dishwasher * flat screen satellite HD TV * Wi-Fi * Cell coverage * farmers porch and large deck * playing field for outdoor games We supply all linens, towels, and everything you'll need in the kitchen. You will have to set the TV input to use the DVD player (I can’t remember what number though) There is also buttons on the side of the TV. WiFi The house is equipped with high speed internet. The router is located in the TV stand. The WiFi network and password are as follows: Network: HOME-73F2 Password: Irasburg (case sensitive) Stereo The stereo is located under the TV. It has a remote control as well as panel settings. Most of the stations available are in the 90 – 94 range. There is also a 3 CD player if desired. Pellet Stove – Important the pellet stove is not working properly and cannot be used. It is in need of repair and will smoke the house out if it is used! Cell phone repeater This house is equipped with a cell phone repeater. The antenna is located in the dining room for best coverage. Unfortunately the repeater is only equipped for 3G and the outside signal isn’t great but it does work. Blankets There are extra blankets, towels and sheets in the closet at the top of the stairs. Extras 1st floor bathroom -there are towels, extra toilet paper and hair dryer in the commode. Iron and Ironing Board in the 1st floor twin room closet. Trash/Recycle Please leave the trash in the provided trash barrels which are located in the shed by the road when you depart. A recycle bin is in the house and has a clear plastic liner for all recycling. Please place recycle bag in the blue barrel located in the shed by the road upon leaving.
