The Bennett features intimate and affordable accommodations in St. Louis' grand and historic Central West End, with weekly housekeeping included. The space The Bennett is a studio apartment. The apartment has a tiny kitchen that is fully stocked and ready for basic meal preparation. Enjoy an excellent night's sleep on the top-quality Queen-sized bed. Soak in the Bennett's original clawfoot bathtub, or enjoy a shower. The apartment has high-speed wireless internet. The smart TV includes an antenna for local stations. Before your arrival, the Bennett will be stocked with welcome teas and treats, freshly roasted coffee, and light breakfast foods to start your stay. You will also find a range of cleaning supplies nd complimentary toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc.). To keep rates low, we do not replenish these items during your stay. The Bennett has central air conditioning, with a remote thermostat that you control. There is a large closet and a chest of drawers for storage. Yes, the Bennett has an iron and ironing board, as well as luggage racks. The Bennett is on the first floor of the historic Cambridge Apartments. Please note that the apartment is accessible only by climbing a half flight of stairs from the lobby up to the first floor. A laundromat is available in the building's upper lobby for guests. Smoking is prohibited in the apartment or anywhere on the premises. Upon making a reservation, you will be notified of SF Shannon House Rules. Creation of a reservation indicates acceptance of SF Shannon policies. WEEKLY HOUSEKEEPING Shortly after your arrival you will be notified of the housekeeping schedule. Cleanings are scheduled Mondays through Fridays; if the day you are assigned does not work for your schedule, let us know. Cleanings take less than two hours. The housekeeper will change the bed linens, swap out towels, dust, vacuum and perform general cleaning. She will not wash dishes or take out the trash. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION The Bennett is on McPherson at Euclid, footsteps from fine restaurants and delightful shopping. Walk to three full-service grocery stores. The Bennett is within walking distance of Forest Park and Barnes Hospital. One-of-a-kind historic architecture, restaurants, coffee houses, and all kinds of shopping are footsteps away. Transit is easy, with a Metrolink stop nearby. PARKING Parking is free and on-street in front of the building, but please note: The Central West End neighborhood, especially along Euclid street, is home to a number of bars and restaurants. These establishments make our neighborhood great, but can also lead to some challenges. With so many establishments within walking distance, the neighborhood attracts many visitors, especially in the evenings and on weekends. This can make parking tricky. You may need to circle the block a few times, but most of our guests don’t report too much trouble getting a spot. IS IT SAFE? Since all of SF Shannon’s vacation rental apartments are in the historic core of St. Louis, we occasionally receive the question: “Is it safe?” This question is impossible to answer, because we typically know nothing about the person asking it. Co-owner Karen lives in this neighborhood. She and her husband raised their family here, and have always felt perfectly safe. WHY THAT NAME? The Bennett is named after Carrie Bennett. She owned the building in the 1960s, when it was called The Cambridge Court. Guest access The apartment is all yours! There is a shared laundry room in the upper lobby and shared hallways with other guests and residents. Other things to note In the winter months, heat is controlled by a central boiler that runs steam through the radiators. The boiler is scheduled to run 1 to 6 times a day, depending on the weather forecast.
