The home is built with true log construction and it sits on the shores of one of Maine and New Hampshire’s most pristine and coveted lakes. Much of the waterfront land surrounding Umbagog Lake is part of the Umbagog National Wildlife Preserve and this provides a stillness and tranquility that more populated lakes cannot offer. The fish population of Umbabgo Lake is healthy and plentiful and is comprised of landlocked salmon, perch, trout, largemouth and smallmouth bass. Fish from the dock, a boat, or spend a day at the Wildlife Refuge. As you cast into the water and breathe in the serene landscape, you will feel your mind settle and your stress subside. The snowmobile community is huge here and Upton is a popular destination for riders. Whether you enjoy a day ride on local trails or a multi-day trip around Maine and New Hampshire, there are a variety of trails to choose from. The Umbagog House can be connected to the ITS trail without needing to trailer your sleds- from the yard you can reach local, interstate and Canadian trail networks. With an open concept floor plan, guests will enjoy views of the lake from every level. The massive living area provides a space for adults to cook and dine, children to play, and friends to gather by the fireplace. A wrap around porch with a screen room allows for outdoor living and entertaining. This house makes it possible to enjoy the great outdoors no matter the activity or the time of day. There are three large bedrooms and two full bathrooms that are arranged as follows: On the first floor, the master bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed, dresser and full closet. There is a his and her bathroom that serves the entire main level. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms and one bathroom. One bedroom is furnished with a queen bed and dresser, and the second has two double beds that can accommodate up to 4 people. There is also a dresser in the second bedroom and there are closets in both. The loft area on the second level overlooks the dining area and is furnished with a pull-out couch for extra sleeping capacity. The lower living space has walk-out doors to the yard and features a separate living room with a T.V. Visit the Umbagog House once and make this vacation a family tradition. Important Notes: Snow removal: All our homes are contracted with various snow removal companies in the area.
