Our home is located at 1800' elevation in the mountains and would be easily accessible by automobiles. There is ample parking space for cars and trucks on the higher and lower level parking or by the roadside. Newly renovated, the cabin provides for the demands of the discerning traveler - everything is carefully handcrafted and meticulously detailed. Downstairs, the open plan with vaulted ceilings feels very roomy and open to nature while also being cozy. There is a kitchen well equipped with cooking amenities plus electric range, oven, refrigerator and dishwasher. You will find sufficient cooking needs in this kitchen and throughout the home: plenty of glassware, cookware, small appliances, spices, basic condiments, all paper products, detergents, dryer sheets, etc. The living room is interior designer's dreamwork for a rustic yet elegant cabin. The carefully selected furniture with beautifully matching paintings and art decor on the wall reflect the ambiance of wilderness and rugged beauty. There is a TV set with DVD player and movie library for your entertainment, books for your laid-back enjoyment and WiFi for getting connection with the outside world. Each room is heated during the winter time with a user friendly Pic-a-Watt heater that you may adjust room temperature as you wish. The two downstairs bedrooms are both equipped with queen beds and comfortable mattresses to rest on. The blinds are set for night time privacy and open to let in first ray of Olympic sunshine and you can view the Hurricane Ridge mountain tops right from your bed! There is one bathroom in the house, which is also located on the first floor, furnished with bath tub, sink countertop and toilet designed both for their charm and practical use. Upstairs features a spacious loft with a twin/full bunkbed plus a futon bed for extended family stay or fun for children. The picture windows are designed for receiving a panoramic view of the natural beauty of this enchanted forest. The laundry room is behind the master bedroom with its own access door. it has a broad folding table and spacious shelves for ironing and storage. A large capacity washer and dryer are ideal for family and friends' laundry use. From the renowned lavender fields and lighthouse in Sequim, to the "Twilight" tours and moss-covered Hoh Rain Forest in Forks, from the iconic La Push beach pine and rock formations to the romantic excursion to Victoria, there are more tourist possibilities than you will have time for. Our property is about 6 miles from downtown Port Angeles and the best way to get up here is to take Hwy 101 to Port Angeles, and exit on Race Street South. This is the only access road to Olympic National Park north entrance and the road will split after the Olympic National Park Visitor Center and turn into Mt Angeles Road and Hurricane Ridge Road. Stay right on Hurricane Ridge Road and drive up for about 5 miles before turning right onto Lake Dawn Road. 232 Lake Dawn is about half mile down the road on your right.
