Description
A homey comfortable cabin on a private stretch of the trout-filled Wind River. A retreat for fly fishermen, nature lovers and families with rambunctious children. Inside we have a classic wood stove for those chilly nights. Although secluded, the cabin is 2 miles from the center of Dubois-a town still claiming Old West charm. Less than an hour from Grand Teton & Yellowstone, the cabin is ideal for day trips to both. Jackson is less than 2 hours away for those missing the glitz and glamour. The space The cabin has all of the amenities-a fully stocked kitchen for cooking, with seasonings, coffee, dishes, pots & pans. The laundry room has detergent. The fire pit has wood. And one grill has charcoal & lighter fluid. The other grill is electric. There are even skewers for s’mores. Here is the layout of the cabin: a master bedroom with queen bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower. An IKEA full sofa/bed in the kitchen topped with an additional mattress when needed. A queen sofa/bed in the TV room topped with a real queen mattress as well. Please note that there is only 1 bathroom and the entrance is through the bedroom. We try to stick to 100% cotton linens and fragrance-free chemicals in cleaning. The scent of the pine trees and sage are lovely enough. Of course, there is Yellowstone for day trips. As well as the glitzy town of Jackson for its restaurants and shopping. Each are roughly an hour and 45 minutes from the cabin. But there is so much more right around here. We have lots and lots of repeat guests. A number of them come a few times and then decide to make Dubois their home. In fact, that is exactly what your hosts did those many years ago. Guest access A big, marshmallow-roasting fire pit and a gazebo on the banks of the river are exclusive to guests in the cabin. Other things to note The Cowboy Cabin is less than 2 miles from the center of town, 50 minutes from Grand Teton National Park and another 50 minute, through GTNP to Yellowstone. the town itself is surrounded by public land, great for hiking and wild game viewing. For hunters: we are in antelope hunt area #84, mule deer area #128, and elk hunt areas 67 & 68. We have pastures for your horses as well.
