Ready for a getaway? Come on up, the mountains are calling! Just six miles from Stratton Mountain, this amazing home sits in the heart of Jamaica Village, in picturesque southern Vermont. This is an large, antique home with southern exposure and sun filled rooms. Plenty of room for everyone to gather together or to find a quiet space to relax. Numerous updates meet your every need. Just minutes to skiing, hiking, summer and fall festivals. You will love this home! The space This home is nearly two hundred years old with beautiful features and loads of charm. The layout leads you from one room to another where you can explore all there is to offer. The house is sizable and there is room to gather together or find a quiet space. The kitchen is very well stocked with all of the necessities for meal prep, including a gas range with double oven and a variety of smaller appliances. A high end water filtration system provides safe, clean, great tasting water. In the kitchen, there is a new wood burning stove that makes the house cozy. Firewood is stocked for your use. Between dining and kitchen seating, there is ample room to dine as a large group. Outdoors there is both a gas grill and charcoal BBQ. There is a fire pit with seating on the lower patio. In the shed there is a stockpile of kiln dried wood and a small table that can be brought down to hold your smore supplies. The upper patio has string lights which make for a festive gathering area. The second floor porch has seating and is a favorite, more private space while the first floor porch is lovely and welcoming as well. On the third floor there is a common area with smart TV, Roku and cable. There is a foosball table and a variety of board games, puzzles, crafts and toys. The third floor enclosed porch has a gorgeous view worth seeing! Guest access Stratton mountain is just 6 miles away and several additional ski areas are just minutes beyond. The house is walking distance to Jamaica State Forest and the West River. There are activites and events offered throughout the year in Jamaica and the surrounding towns. Music concerts, antiquing, berry picking, festivals, horseback riding, swimming and endless outdoor activities. The home is also walking distance to grocery (with ATM), yoga, library, post office and town hall social events. Our bulletin board has more activity ideas posted and updated seasonally. Other things to note In the winter, cars must be parked off the street and our spaces are limited. Please discuss parking with us if you believe your group will have more than four cars. If there is a specific date that is marked as unavailable on the calendar, please ask us because some dates may be flexible.
