For emergencies only after 9pm, a number will be provided for local assistance with the home. Quiet area with mountain views adjacent to Moran State Park. Crescent Lake is a 12-minute walk by a trailhead across the street. The park includes five freshwater lakes for swimming and non-motorized boating and more than 30 miles of hiking, bicycling, mountain biking and equestrian trails.  One of our guests hiked from the house to the lookout at the top of Mount Constitution! This home is on an island! It is accessed by the WSF ferry system (reservations highly recommended both arriving and departing), by air (Kenmore Air offers flights), or by private boat. Rosario Resort's marina is one mile away. Most people drive their own vehicles or fly in to Seattle's airport (SeaTac) and rent a car. The drive to the Anacortes dock is about 2 hours. New collaboration! In May 2023, Alaska Airlines partnered with Kenmore Air for connecting flights through Paine Field in Everett to San Juan Islands. Alternatively, you can take a small plane from SeaTac to Orcas and rent a car on-island. While there is a taxi service, I still recommend that you have your own vehicle. The terrain of Orcas is gorgeous, but means that many driveways are steep! Please drive slowly and keep moving until you reach the top. As of September 2023, we have paved the steep part of the driveway! The hills also mean that your cell coverage will be spotty on Orcas. We have reliable wifi with a local provider. Many of our guests have used it for video conferencing while working from the house. The driveway is shared with the house next door. This house is TO THE RIGHT. DOG OWNERS We welcome your pets in our home and do not charge a pet fee. *PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE FURNITURE OR BEDS. We will charge an extra cleaning fee if there is excess hair on the furniture or beds. *Use the dog towels in the entry closet. White towels are for people only! *Dogs are not allowed on the sofa or beds. *Dogs should be left alone only in their crates. Ideally, please take them with you. *Doggie bags are under the kitchen sink. Put them in the trash, never in the toilet. NOTE TO PET OWNERS: If you allow your pets on the furniture and they leave excess hair for my housekeeper to remove, I will charge an additional $30 cleaning fee. Please help us keep the house clean for other guests by keeping your pets off of the couch and beds.
