The space Our beautiful, professionally renovated, self-contained, lower level executive-style apartment located in central east Toronto has all the comforts of home, with its own entrance & free onsite parking (no need to pay for a parking permit from the city). The in-suite laundry is private, not shared with us so you can do your laundry whenever you wish. We're on a quiet street in a safe, family friendly neighbourhood just a 4 minute walk to the vibrant Danforth Ave. There, within 10-15 minutes of our house are cute shops, fitness gyms, school & park with large playgrounds, & a huge variety of restaurants: Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Ethiopian, Korean, Italian restaurants, cute little French café, several nice bars/pubs, & fast food favourites like McDonald's, Subway sandwiches, pizza places, Tim Horton's & Starbucks. We're a 6-minute walk to nearby Coxwell subway station. From there it's 15-20 mins to the heart of downtown Toronto where the local cultural & tourist hotspots are, including attractions like the CN Tower, Ripley's Aquarium, St. Lawrence Market, Royal Ontario Museum, Art Gallery of Ontario, Casa Loma, Kensington Market & Chinatown. The 24 hr BlueLine bus service runs when the subway isn't operating late at night. Our beautifully decorated apartment includes a FULLY equipped gourmet kitchen, with a large, granite-topped breakfast bar with that's perfect for working, entertaining & dining. The sectional sofa in the living room converts to a double bed, with extra pillows & linens for two. There are two additional single-size fold up beds that can sleep two more. The 65" LG 4K smart streaming TV gives you an immersive, big-screen experience, & comes with a wide variety of channels (including premium channels like Showcase, Bravo!, HGTV, History, sports & children's channels like Treehouse, Nickelodeon, etc). Our Wi-fi is very reliable & high speed, allowing for remote work. For families with young children, we have a play yard / Pack 'n' Play, feeding chair, bath toys & fun kid's towels, electrical outlet covers & cabinet locks. The 4-piece bathroom has a tub, & adults will enjoy the large, luxurious, Moen rainfall shower head with various settings & excellent water pressure. Dry off with thick, luxurious Turkish cotton towels of the highest quality (from Restoration Hardware). In the spacious bedroom area, a queen-size bed with 500 thread count bedding awaits you, with its own sitting area & a cozy reading nook, & a soft, warm shag carpet under your feet. We've ensured the suite meets all safety regulations: it is outfitted with a solid-core fire-rated door on spring hinges. There are 2 windows large enough to serve as exit points. A fire extinguisher is also located in the kitchen. To ensure the safety of both our family & our guests, we invested in top-of-the-line, Wi-fi enabled smoke & carbon monoxide alarms that are wirelessly interconnected to each other (including ours upstairs) & to the HVAC system, so everyone in the house is notified in an emergency. Since the entrance doors are outfitted with digital locks, there is no need to fiddle with keys. In the summer we have a nice patio area with chairs & a dining table that is covered & perfect for relaxing & outdoor dining. Other things to note Our ceilings in the basement are 6'6" to 6'7" (1.98-2m), but there are a few spots where they are slightly lower (under the kitchen track lights, duct work along the wall in the bedroom by the desk & in the shower). If you are over 6' (1.83 m), you may wish to take those points into consideration. The general temperature of the suite is quite comfortable for the majority of our guests. If you find it to be a bit warm in the winter seasons, or that the air conditioning's a bit too powerful for your liking in the summer, ensure the 3 sets of ceiling vents (in the kitchen, bedroom area & by the desk) are closed, & you can also open the windows briefly to let out the extra heat or cold air. Please ensure all the windows are closed if you leave the suite though, for both security & in case of rain. We have invested in a Wi-fi enabled thermostat system, so that even if we're out of the house, we can quickly adjust the temperature remotely by phone for the comfort of our guests; just give us a call or text if you need the temperature adjusted.
