Beachfront Guest Cottage - Year-round Hot Tub!

Our cozy guest cottage has easy beachfront/kayak/canoe access (if you bring your own) and is located very close (within walking distance at low tide) to the public boat launch for larger boats. Great location to explore Deer Isle, Acadia (approx 1hr), Castine (45m), and the Bangor (1hr) area. Brave children and adults even swim from the beach but comfortable swimming ponds/lakes are 10m in several directions. The hot-tub is open year-round! Additional guests can be considered prior to booking. The space PRIVACY Number one question we get, how private is it? Are we invading your space? NO! We have had the guest house listed on AirBnB since we moved in in 2020. We have always shared this space. We cannot see the guest house from inside our house (except for one window that we are only near when emptying a litter box). We try to do our outside work when guests are gone but sometimes we see/talk to guests while leaving/coming home. In warm weather we eat/work/play on our back screened in patio and will say hi if you do. Other things to note We don't greet guests upon arrival but are available as needed. We live in the main house year-round so you will see or hear us and our children outside and coming/going. We will provide our cell numbers to text or call if needed. Wifi is DSL with consistent speeds up to 40Mbps. There is very rarely an outage. We both work from home without issue. We have AT&T cell service and are usually able to make/receive calls without issue. Cell service has become more consistent in the area in the last few years. TV is antenna with several local channels and there is a DVD player with a selection of DVDs. There is also a Roku available to use with your own accounts. We offer free laundry service and can arrange to pick up/drop off your laundry at the door and a drying rack is also in the guest cottage for towel and swimsuits. Other items available in guest house not listed in AirBandB's checklist; large crockpot, blender, baby/toddler hiking backpack, and foldable wagon. Coffee/creamers/sweeteners and teas are available with a Kuerig coffee maker and kettle. Condiments, spices, ice packs, a small cooler and picnic set are available. Beach access is through the backyard (look for the stacked kayaks and chairs for the set of stairs with railing to enter the beach). Kayaks are for our personal use only for liability issues. *NOTE* - We have an outdoor dog, a Great Pyrenees, in a fenced on area on the far end of the property opposite of the guest house, who does bark at night at new guest's arrivals or loud voices, deer, squirrels, or wind?. He is the adoptive father of two Nigerian Dwarf goats, so he is very protective, DON'T PET over the fence! The closest neighbors also have outside dogs seasonally. The dog and goats are always fenced in. *ANOTHER NOTE* - We have four chickens, if you are scared of chickens, let us know when booking and we will keep them in the coop, they are usually in the coop anyway. We've also had a chicken fatality due to a guest not listing a dog when booking - the chickens are kept in the coop when a dog visits, sometimes they just can't help themselves and better safe than sorry! However, we also have 2 geese and 2 ducks. They will honk if you come near but will just try to get away. *NEWEST NOTE* - As of 2025, we now have an AussiePoo, who should not be out off leash when guests are here. However, she's great at escaping. She's friendly, especially with other dogs, but barks at humans when startled.
