We have a cottage that is 75 feet from the waters edge with outstanding views. Sit back and soak in the views. There are two waterfront cottages. Each cottage has two bedrooms, a bathroom with a shower, a kitchen and living room, dining room table and chairs. The Beach cottage is located 3 miles (10 minutes) south of Blue Hill. The cottages are on 3.5 acres of land and right on the waters edge. We can accomodate up to 8 people with 4 bedrooms in total. Each cottage has two bedrooms, one bedroom with a double bed and other bedroom with a set of twin beds and a separate bathroom. Each cottage is self contained, including living room, kitchen and bathroom, gas stove, fridge, wifi internet, a deck and outdoor seating and outdoor table, with 2 BBQ's, one gas and other wood fire on waters edge (Lobster cook outs)....Each cottage has its own shower unit (one is standalone shower unit, & one is tub/shower). The cottages walls are not insulated, making them typical Down East rustic summer cabins. We have a ceiling fans and heaters as well. The views are amazing! The configuration of the property is set up so you have access to both cottages for the price of one. The cottages are rustic in style, made from pine/cedar construction, which makes for the romance of the property. The cottages were built using of pine, with cedar shingles, very much inline with LL-Bean style of cottage for Downeast Maine. The cottages are located on our 3.5 acre property. The cottages are at the end of our driveway, which is about 150 yds from the main entrance. They are both waterfront and overlook the sea. The entire property is set it up where we have 2 standalone cottages we rent out, an well as standalone house by the entrance to the property we also rent out (sleep 6). This place is also listed on the AirBNB site as The Green House. The cottages have a stand alone washing machine on site in 2020, but no drier unit. We have a clothes line outside. There is also a laundromat in Blue Hill township, about 10 minutes away. The two cottages are your all "downeast" classic cedar construction and are not insulated, so we close the property for the season on Oct 15'sh, which is peak fall coverage in the area. For renters from Sept 15-Oct 15, both cottages have heaters in each bedroom, each bed has an electric under blanket. One of the cottages has a gas fire place. The guests at the other main house (Green House) do not have beach or waterfront access so as to provide each other the respected privacy. We are 45 minutes drive to Arcadia National Park HQ. and 55 minutes to Bar Harbor, 60 minutes to Bangor. 2.5 hours to Portland, 3 hours to St John Canada. The beach cottages both have direct access to the waterfront and you can literally watch the lobster boats pull up 100-200 yards out and lift the days catch. Great access for kayaks and canoes. My wife and I are always available for any questions and we also have a great caretaker that can address any onsite questions once you are there. The property overlooks the sea out to Long Island and Arcadia National Park is just behind that. We sometimes get to see a local Bald Eagle early in the morning, & we often get porpoises and dolphins swimming past. In the afternoon we get some wonderful big sailing boats cruising past when the wind picks up. The area itself is very sheltered due to Long Island being 2 miles offshore and acts a buffer. You are just 45-50 minutes drive to Arcadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Lots to do, walk, bike, hike, climb, kayak...eat, sleep, camp...its amazing. Go and take a boat trip to see the whales, I did last year and it as very up close and personal! Blue Hill township is absolutely gorgeous and a step back time and is just 4 miles away (about 10 minutes) and has some tremendous galleries, coffee shops (4 last count), several great restaurants in town as well and a superb lobster shack (Fish Net) by the Co-op supermarket (organic). The town or should I say village, has a great "down east" vibe. Brooklin is 6 miles away and is home to "The Wooden Boat" School. Brooklyn is very quaint, one blink and you will miss it! If you need a city .... then Bangor is just an hours drive away and it has all the malls and shopping you can expect from a regular US city. The upside is that the Bangor airport has several direct flights there (NYC, Philly, DC, Chicago, Ft Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, Houston, Charlotte) if you don't want to drive all the way here. Pets will be considered on a case by case basis. We have wifi, but there is no TV (it's a holiday)
