Quiet retreat perched on a hill above Lake Summit surrounded by nature with all the modern conveniences. Enjoy the use of our boathouse/dock on a large cove of the beautiful lake. Visit nearby historic places, national parks, restaurants, & markets. Convenient to Hendersonville & Saluda. Use our kayaks and paddle board to explore the lake, swim and picnic at the dock, walk along the lake road, play badminton on our court, wander in the garden or just rock on your porch. Originally the servants' quarters on the grounds of a home built by a founder of the lake during the early 1920's, the building has been renovated into a large open concept space which is very private and has its own entrance. The owners live in the main house with 3 cats. Guests have access to the grounds and boathouse and enjoy badminton, swimming, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and walks along the lake road. (There are 2 kayaks and 1 paddle board available for your use) We are a retired couple very familiar with the area and quite willing to help with suggestions or directions. We also respect our guests privacy. Close to Saluda (10 min.), Hendersonville (15 min), Tryon (20 min), Asheville (30 min), Greenville, SC (30 min) or Brevard (40 min)...there is always something to explore. Lots of nearby restaurants, tailgate markets, antique stores, hiking trails, zip lines, local arts & crafts, breweries, wineries, Biltmore Estate, Carl Sandburg Estate, Tryon International Equestrian Center, Blue Ridge Parkway, Dupont & Pisgah Forests convenient to Interstates 26, 40 and 85 20 min. to Asheville airport & 45 min. to GSP Lake Summit Nest is ideal for one or two guests. It is a large open space with a king bed (which can be pulled apart into twins if you wish) partially separated from the living room and a full kitchen. Our dock and boathouse are especially popular with guests and can be reached on foot via around 90 stone steps or by car.
