The North Cascade’s House
The North Cascade’s House
Description
Cozy little house! This little house is perfectly situated for access to the North Cascades and all the recreation it has to offer! Hiking, backpacking, rafting, fishing, hunting, boating are within reach. Located just off of highway 20 keeps it quiet and safe. Four seasonal restaurants and two gas stations are just under a mile away. Wine tasting just around the corner. The space The house and property: you will love the charm of this 950 sq/ft home! It is cozy in the winter with a wood burning stove, but stays cool even on hot summer days! On the 2.25 acres, there are fruit trees and blueberry bushes (and you are welcome to anything that’s in season!), and lots of lawn to stretch out. The large driveway can easily accommodate many cars or large vehicles or trailers. There is a Forest Service trail — Cow Heaven— just down the road, and the Powerline road provides a nice evening walk down to Olsen Creek or several miles all the way to Diobsid Creek. The house is just a half mile from the Ranger Station and Wilderness Information Center for North Cascades National Park. The house has low ceilings and can be a problem for Tall people. Many people don’t even notice. Guest access The laundry room is not available to guests under normal circumstances— if you feel you have exceptional need, please reach out and we will work with you case by case. The garage is not currently available- sorry! The property is available to you and you are welcome to any apples or fruit that is ripe! Others may or may not be staying elsewhere on the property. They do not effect your access and they do not share the house at all. Other things to note In this area the power may go out for unknown periods of time. Usually a tree blows down over a line and many people lose power. The house is perfectly setup with a propane stovetop (light with a match) and wood stove for heat, and emergency water along with lanterns and candles and flashlights. You will be fine if this happens during your stay! !!! Please Note: when the power goes out, so does the running water. This is why emergency water is provided!!!
