Our goal is to offer one of the cutest and cleanest cottages to you for your family getaway or vacation. Cozy lakefront cottage on Lake Mitchell in Cadillac, Michigan. Enjoy a remodeled and updated 1950s cottage in modern cottage style with upscale art and vintage decor. Please note that due to accessibility and characteristics of an older cottage, this space is not ideal for some seniors or for families with young children who need baby-proofing. Welcome to our Getaway! No matter the season, the cottage offers a private space for you to getaway and relax. Situated on all-sports Lake Mitchell in Cadillac, Michigan, the area is a treat for nature lovers. The cottage has 60' of frontage on Lake Mitchell and is just a short distance from downtown Cadillac, the state park, and hiking trails. The area boasts lakes, natural woods, and rolling hills. Caberfae Ski Area is just 15 miles away, too. This space is best for families or couples. We usually do not rent to groups of hunters or snowmobilers. Please note that due to accessibility and characteristics of an older cottage, this space is not ideal for some seniors or for families with young children who need baby-proofing. The upstairs bedroom has a queen mattress and a door for privacy. There are two downstairs bedrooms; they do not have doors. The “bunk room” has a bunk bed in it, the bottom mattress is a double and the top mattress is a twin. The other room has a double bed. There is also a futon in the basement that can be used for sleeping. We request that the couch in the living area not be used as a sleeping area. There is an open stairway to the basement. This could pose a safety issue for small children, or be difficult to navigate for those with balance issues or elderly guests. The large backyard is great for play, sunbathing, lawn games, and bonfires. Indoors, a fully-equipped kitchen and dining table for six allows you to cook or do take-out for family meals. Wi-fi lets you also use the cottage for a retreat or working vacation if you just need a change of scenery. All new appliances, water heater and furnace will let you be cozy and comfortable no matter the season. The cottage has parking for two personal vehicles right in front. There is not room for a boat or snowmobile trailer. Quiet neighborhood with several vacation cottages and year-round homes. Please be considerate of our neighbors. There is plenty of room to part 2 cars in front of the cottage and access to an EV charger! One additional car can be parked on the lawn. Our cottage is an older space - with all the charm and challenges that come with that. The water does have northern Michigan minerals in it - which can cause a brown tinge. We have a filter pitcher in the refrigerator for drinking water that works just fine for us. Some guests may prefer to purchase drinking water. This property is our family cottage and we use it ourselves regularly. We are not professional Airbnb hosts, but we do enjoy offering the cottage when we are not using it ourselves. If you are looking for a resort-style stay or a space without flaws, this may not be for you. As our time and budget allows, we are always working to upgrade and improve beds, flooring, appliances, and outdoor spaces.
