This large, stately B&B room comfortably sleeps three, with a queen-sized sleigh bed and a twin bed in a private alcove. This room has beamed cathedral ceilings, a sitting area, and ensuite bathroom. Gourmet three-course breakfast is included. The space Just on the edge of the lively little town of Waitsfield, Vermont, The Featherbed Inn is a bed and breakfast that sits on 20 acres of land, with 800 acres of forest and meadow, and 40 miles of maintained mountain bike and snowshoe trails a few steps from the front door. A three-course gourmet breakfast awaits you each morning. Drive 8 minutes in either direction, and you'll find yourself at some of the best skiing in the East - Sugarbush to the south and Mad River Glen to the north. The inn welcomes you with two living rooms, one with a large fieldstone fireplace, a dining room, an 1840s barn, and European featherbeds in every room. Jump in our swimming pond to cool off on a warm summer afternoon, or walk across the road to a pristine swimming hole in the Mad River, or soak in our outdoor hot tub. Ride or walk directly from the inn and onto the Featherbed Connector, leading to a 40-mile network of maintained and utterly gorgeous trails. Bring your mountain bike or road bike or motorbike - whichever you choose, it's going to be a glorious ride. Peep at our autumn leaves as the valley explodes with color. Take an al fresco yoga class, outdoors on our meadow. Delight your taste buds at one of the several fantastic restaurants within a mile of the inn. Take yourself onto our trails for a walk, ski, or snowshoe (we've got spares if you don't have your own snowshoes), and come back to s'mores by the fire pit. Play on our lawns, read your favorite book in our gazebo by the pond, nap in a hammock, rest up in your spacious room, or join your hosts and fellow guests for conversation or board games in the living rooms. Guest access Guests have full use of all of the inn's commons spaces, indoors and out. We have two living rooms, a dining room, two porches, a swimming pond, outdoor hot tub, mountain biking/hiking/snowshoeing trails, two fire pits, extensive grounds, gazebo. During your stay We are around pretty much all of the time, and we love to hang out with our guests to offer recommendations, share stories, and get to know each other.
