Camp Earnest Quiet Cabin in Twain Harte

Welcome to Camp Earnest, a 21 acre former summer camp tucked into the Sierras in northern California, about 140 miles east of SF. You'll be staying in our Quiet Cabin, one large room w/two beds, day bed, kitchenette, wood stove & bathroom & AC. Camp Earnest sits in a ponderosa, cedar & manzanita forest, w/light snow in the winter & mild summers. We have a year round creek & hikes right off our property. Nearby are Dodge Ridge Ski Area, Pinecrest Lake, Calaveras Big Trees SP & Yosemite NP The space A cozy cabin to retreat from the world and soak up nature, in a forest near Twain Harte, CA. You'll have your own picnic table and a wood burning stove. We provide artisan coffee and tea, kitchenette basics. Guest access The whole cabin is yours and your parking spot is right in front. You can walk around the property and on our trails, though there may be other guests as this is a shared property. We live in the main lodge. Knock or ring our doorbell if there's an emergency. Otherwise message us through AirBnB if you need anything or have questions. Other things to note Always check weather conditions and air quality conditions before you come. We are at 3,500 feet of elevation, which means we get some snow with storms, sometimes just a few inches, sometimes more. We are a great place to stay to ski at Dodge Ridge since we have minimal snow here while up on the mountain it will snow a lot more. We have a gravel driveway that is passable with 2WD, but in winter conditions you may want 4WD. Please communicate with us when it is snowing or there's a storm. We have a Level 2 Clipper Creek Electric Vehicle charger with JC 1772 connector located at the RV slip off our main driveway. We kindly ask for a flat rate fee of $30 to charge during your stay. Electric rates are higher here than in cities and we appreciate charging overnight. We have generator power so are not impacted by power outages, but we limit energy use during these times. We are a dog friendly campus and allow 2 dogs per unit and ask that you include this in the booking. Please no dogs on the beds. We do not charge a pet fee, however if there is excessive mess and fur it's an $40 extra cleaning charge. Only dogs are allowed, no cats or other animals. Dogs must be kept on leash and not roam the property freely. If you are found to bring a cat it is a $100 charge for cleaning due to common allergies and issues. Please respect our pet rules. We do our best to keep firewood available next to the lodge at no extra charge, within reason, but cannot guarantee we have a year round supply. Please always practice fire safety and put out fires at the end of the night. We remove fire pits during fire season and county bans, which is typically from June to October. We live on site in the lodge which is private. We are a small outfit and enjoy our simple mountain life.
