The space Evergreen Victorian Garden Room is nestled in the heart of the historic “residential” district of Jefferson. Conveniently located to all the shops, museums and restaurants in town, the Carriage The Garden Room is filled with gorgeous antiques. It has a separate, yet shared kitchen/dining room filled with most amenities you’d need in your own home kitchen ! Beautiful grounds with sitting areas, swings, fire pit and walking paths surround the house for your enjoyment. The Carriage House is perfect for friends traveling together. The main house "Evergreen" was built in 1892 by Margaret Godfrey, a school teacher. The home passed through a few families and in 1991, Doug and Phillis Eastham purchased the home. The Eastham's have attempted to restore the house to its original condition removing many of the additions and partitions constructed during the early part of this century. Doug and Phillis have been married for 59 years and live in the main Evergreen house. The Eastham's moved from Houston where they had a hardware and lumbar business for 30 years. After making the decision to retire, the Eastham's settled on Jefferson Texas wanting to restore an old home. They say their favorite thing about Jefferson is the people and unique community.
