The Twin Peaks Suite is is just what you've been looking for during your stay in Ouray. This cozy suite is located on Main Street, just blocks from trailheads, shops, restaurants and breweries. Only a 3/4 mile walk or drive to the renowned Ouray Hot Springs Pool. Jen will be your host and is knowledgable about the area and can give you all the pointers you need to live like a local during your stay in Ouray. The Twin Peaks Suite is a second floor unit located in the The Emilia Guesthouse. This historic building was built in 1888 to house miners from the Idarado and Campbird Mines. The 500sq ft space features a cozy living room, bedroom with queen bed, full kitchen with bar top open and private bathroom. Excellent views from the large deck. It's just a short walk up the hill to the infamous Ice Park and Ouray Via Ferrata. The building sits below the launch site for the 4th of July and New Year's Eve fireworks and gives an up close experience of the events! This quaint, clean and comfortable accommodation offers the perfect respite following your outdoor adventures! This suite features extra closet space large enough to store skis, climbing gear and other outdoor equipment. Due to the age of the building, this unit is suitable for children 12 and up only. Please note, this histric home does not have central air. A stand alone air conditioner and fans are available for use in each unit. Refunds will not be issued due to weather. Changes to reservation will not be accepted within 14 days of arrival. This building is in an area surrounded by several thousands of acres of wilderness in the Colorado mountains. Please understand that you may encounter a wide range of wildlife from small insects to bears. Ouray most frequent visitors are deer, foxes, skunks, a variety of birds, and bears. Please do don't leave any coolers, dog food or like items outside at any time. Trash must also be contained in the bear proof dumpster over night. In the nearby area there are mountain lions, lynx, moose and other animals that are less frequently seen. We enjoy sharing the area with all critters and respect their right to be here just as much as ours. Therefore, we do not use any chemical pesticides or traps. There are ultrasonic deterants plugged into an outlet in each unit. These emit a high frequency noise to deter insects and mice but can not be heard by humans or dogs. Guests may enter the complex through the front door and up the stairs to their private entrance to the unit. An additional set of stairs is outside that lead up to the deck and an exterior private entrance. Jen will be your host and is also is a full-time teacher at Ouray School. She owns and lives in the neighboring AlpLily Inn. She can give you plenty of recommendation on the best places to eat, see and play in and around Ouray. Jen is available between the hours of 9am and 9pm. She may not always be able to give an immediate response, but will answer messages and voicemails within a few hours or first thing the next morning if it's past 9pm. Thanks for your understanding! We hope you have a memorable and adventurous stay in Ouray. If you need immediate assistance, it is best to call Jen directly. If it is past 9pm, two consecutive phone calls will bypass the do not disturb setting and allow the call to go through. The Emilia Guesthouse is just a short walk from town and is within blocks of the Box Canyon Falls and Ice Park. 3/4 mile from Ouray Hotsprings Pool. The building is at the South end of Main St. and is the best location for viewing the fireworks on 4th of July and New Year's Eve and for walking to the Via Ferrata and Ice Park. There are 5 dog friendly units in the complex. You may hear and encounter other renters during your stay. Street parking is available. There is a small parking lot behind the building with limited spaces. These are first come first serve. Overnight parking is not permitted on Main St. from September to May. There are 5 pet friendly units in the complex. You may hear and encounter other renters during your stay. Parking is available on Main St in front of the bottom and the side street. There is limited off-street parking directly behind the building that is first come first serve. One quiet, house-trained, well behaved dog is welcome (no exceptions) with a $100 pet fee. A dog may be left unattended but if it is being disruptive (scratching at the door or barking/whining/howling), owners will be asked to return to attend to them. If the dog continues to be disruptive to other guests, the reservation will be terminated and the guest will be asked to leave without a refund. Cats and other animals are not permitted. Quiet hours 10pm-6am. Registered guests only. Changes to reservation will not be accepted within 14 days of arrival. Please double check that you’ve collected all of your belongings at checkout. A $35 fee plus shipping costs will be requested prior to mailing any forgotten items.
